Wasn't a Reader...

When I was a kid my mom read stories to me sometimes.  Not all the time.  I do remember her reading those really thin books that you give to toddlers who can't read and most of the page is all picture with a sentence at the top or bottom.  Those are about all she ever read to me.  I was never read from a thicker book with no pictures like Pinocchio or Moby Dick or whatever.  I'm not trying to put blame on my mother but I never was very much of a reader growing up.

Now my sister on the other hand was.  I can remember her being in her teens reading horror novels like Christine or Cujo.  I'm just picking names out of the hat.  I do remember my mom and my Aunt Betty reading V.C. Andrews books and my sister would read them after my mom and aunt.  But I never was really interested in reading.  My sister was an A student though and I had "learning disabilities" which later I found out was ADD when I was 26.  I mean really, if anyone or anything is to blame it's that.

When I was 15 I would see my sister reading her V.C. Andrews novels and I wanted to feel a little like part of the crowd so I asked my mom if she would buy me the V novel and since I had already seen the mini series I already knew what would happen in the book so it made it easier to read.  I did only get halfway through the book though because I lost interest.  Not in the book but reading in general.

When I was 19 I bought the Back to the Future 2 and 3 paperback novels which were basically the movie verbatim.  I hadn't yet seen the 2nd movie and the 3rd was in theaters so I wanted to read the 2nd book then rent the movie then read the 3rd book then go see it in theaters.  Unfortunately, by the time I was finished with the 3rd book the movie wasn't in theaters anymore lol.  But eventually I did get to rent it when it went to VHS.

It did make me feel smart to read a book but that was the last book I read until I was 25.  I had bought a Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel called Prophecies : Lost Slayer Serial novel Part 1 when Buffy was still on TV.  I mainly bought it because I was at Barnes and Noble with my aunt and uncle who are avid readers and I felt stupid so I bought a book.  I didn't want to buy something expensive because I really didn't have the money to blow on a book that I knew I would probably never read.  It sat in a box in my closet for years.

In December 2005 after Christmas I was going through my boxes looking for something and I came across this thin novel and I thought you know what, I'm going to tackle this.  I started reading it and I was hooked on it.  It certainly kept my interest and I read it all the way through and it only took me maybe an hour.  There were no hard words in there that I would either need a dictionary or a PHD to figure out what they meant.  So I told a friend of mine that I read it and then she bought a book that was all 4 parts in 1 book and I read it all the way through in a very small period of time.  I was hooked on reading finally.

Then I bought the Harry Potter books 1-5 box from Amazon and read them.  It probably took me 4 or 5 days each book which was fine by me, the longer the better.  But, the first 3 books were thinner than the rest and I read the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th one all in the same amount of time as the first 3 which meant that I was getting faster.

Unfortunately though Harry Potter ruined it for me because J.K. Rowling's books were so easy to read that no other book could keep my interest.  I'd fall asleep while reading other books so I mainly gave up.

Now I've started on the Piers Anthony Xanth novels and those are pretty good and keep my interest.  I've bought so many books that I thought I'd read and never did so I'm going to try and tackle them all soon.

Online Bookshelf

I just found this website called aNobii where you type in the 10 digit ISBN number on the back of your books and it automatically finds the book through it's database and adds it to your bookshelf.

Facebook had something similar to this but for some reason when Facebook went to new facebook, it made it impossible to use the Bookshelf application.  So I did a search and found this.  I added it as a widgit to the sidebar which shows 1 of my books at random at a time.  It has a link that brings you right to my bookshelf on the aNobii website.

I think it's neat hehe.

A Spell for Chameleon - part 2

Well I finally finished reading this book about an hour ago. I thought it was a very good book. Although I didn't get the puns at first because I didn't think of them as puns but more I was thinking of them as what they were. In the fantasy world that I live in, if they say it's a Jelly tree then it has jelly inside of it. I don't take it any other way. So it was a shock to me when I was told that "Jelly Tree" was a pun.

I lived in the world of EverQuest for 6 long years plus I've lived in the fantasy realm for a lot longer than that lol. Some people may laugh at that but it's true. I've always been a fan of science fiction and fantasy. So it is no surprise to me when Piers Anthony writes about a blanket plant and I have to assume the leaves are blankets.

Besides all that, I am always making up puns whenever someone says something I come up with this off the wall joke usually including a pun. Nobody laughs, they usually moan.

I had this friend named Bob and he was like me too so he and I were constantly making each other laugh. I would say something and Chip would say Mike that doesn't make sense but you could hear Bob laughing in the background because Bob got it. And he was usually the only one. For the rest of the people I had to sit there explaining my joke before they called the men in white coats to take me away.

Getting back to the book though.  I thought it was a very good book.  Every chapter had it's own little mini quest or adventure and I was glued to it whenever I read it.  My jaw had dropped to the ground in the last chapter when you know who became King.  Hey, I'm not going to spoil it for anyone lol.  Because I wasn't expecting that to happen.  But I guess it all ended good and everyone lived happily ever after.  Right?  Well, that is until I start reading the next one.

Vice President Biden Blunder

I was just sent this video:

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJnJKE8kkmM

Apparently our new Vice President hasn't had very much experience with the computer because he doesn't know that it's not a number but more an address.  You would think that with Obama constantly on his Blackberry that computer lingo would rub off of him and onto Biden.  Or Biden's children or grandchildren would be talking computer talk around him.  I've never heard of a website be referred to as a number.  Welcome to 2009 Mr. Vice President.

Bukowski Bears Bookmarks

When I was visiting my Aunt Louise at Christmas time in 2006, one of my presents was a bookmark.  My aunt had friends from Germany staying with them and they had a present for me without ever even meeting me.  I thought that was sweet of them.  It was a bookmark that they found in Sweden of a little bear on top with feet at the bottom and it's the perfect size bookmark for like a little novel.  I wouldn't use it for anything bigger because the feet might not stick out the bottom.

I was using it for a book I was reading which was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel and then my Uncle suggested a David Eddings book, The Belgariad book 1 and so I was reading that too which meant I would need another bookmark or a post it note sticking out the top.  I wasn't expecting her to give me a 2nd bookmark but she did so now I have 2.  A brown one and a blue one.  I use them all the time, well 1 at a time normally.  I found them online in a UK web shop at www.devongiftshop.com for about £3.50 each.

The company they are made from is called Bukowski and I went to their website but they don't make it easy to shop there.  So I had to do a search to find them elsewhere which is how I found Devon Gift Shop.  I think the price is reasonable.  The bookmarks are furry just like a teddy bear so it's nice to hold hehe.

I almost forgot to post 2 pictures that I took of my bookmarks.

Snood

I know everyone has heard about Snood by now but if you haven't and you've been living under a rock, Snood is this awesome and addictive game where you shoot these little snoods with one of it's own kind and if you hit 2 with 1 of the same then they fall off and you clear a path so you can shoot down some more.  It's really fun.

That was the original Snood and they've added new games.  Like Snood Poppers, Snood Slide, Snoodoku, Snood Solitaire and Snood Towers.  They also made Chowder, Cactus Bruce and the Corporate Monkeys, Meeklits and Ballmaster2.

I have played Snood Poppers demo and it was pretty neat.  It's similar to Snood where you shoot snoods to make them disappear but this time they are going through this pipe that is twisty and you have to eliminate the snoods before they get to the other side.

I haven't played any of the others though, I don't really care for Solitaire too much, I mean, I already have Windows Solitaire.  Why should I buy another one when I got one for free?  Plus, I really never play that, when I do play Solitaire I always play Spider Solitaire.

I do have a Snood T-shirt and a Snood key chain which I love.  I'm always playing with the key chain, it's so shiny and it's dangly.  I'm a simple man, you give me something shiny to play with and you got my attention for awhile lol.  And whenever I wear the shirt people who know what Snood is always say hi and some people who don't are like cool shirt, what's it mean?  Then I tell them.  I'm like a walking billboard when I wear advertisements.  But what I can I say?  I love Snood.

Amazon Kindle 2 Arrives Today

The Amazon Kindle 2 arrives early.  Not to me but to those who bought one.  I watched a USA Today review of it and it pretty much touched on a good point.  That it doesn't have a battery door and no SD card slot.  But other than that it's pretty good.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj3jXNKu5B4

I would love it if someone who has a Kindle (1 or 2) who has a newspaper subscription could please do a little video demo showing how a newspaper looks on the kindle (turning the pages, if there is a table of contents etc).  I'm really curious about that.

I went to YouTube looking for a demo from regular people and all I got is a demo from Amazon and the review from USA today.  Also interviews from Amazon.

Gevalia Stir Mug

gevalia-stir-mugI've seen this on the Dvice website before but I guess I never blogged about it.  It's a neat little gadget for coffee drinkers.

"Insulated stainless steel gently stirs your beverage at the push of a button. Keeps coffee hot for hours. With snap-on, see-through sipper lid."

Now this is something that I want to buy.  It's $18.95 but if you buy 2 it's $32.95 giving you a discount of $5.  It uses 2 AAA batteries.  It's hand washable so don't put it in the dishwasher, that might break it and I wouldn't submerge it in the sink full of dishes either, just in case.  You would probably just want to clean it outside of the sink then rinse it out.

I think it's neat because you won't need a stirring stick or a spoon, who wants to keep a spoon in their mug all day or keep using several spoons throughout the day?  And if you don't drink your coffee fast enough it can get cold and this has a built in heater to keep it hot for you.  That's worth the cost.  I'm sure there are shipping charges as well.  I've looked for this in sears but they don't have it.  I haven't looked anywhere else but I'm sure it's a Gevalia exclusive product.

Pretty neat huh?

A Spell for Chameleon

I've started reading the Xanth series of novels starting with the very first one called A Spell for Chameleon.  I'm not exactly sure why they named it for "Chameleon" but I'm sure I will figure it out.

It's about this guy named Bink who never found his magical talent and he has to go to the Good Magician Humphrey and find his magical talent in exchange for 1 year of service.  If he doesn't find his magical talent he could be exiled forever from Xanth and he doesn't want that.  He wants to marry his girlfriend Sabrina but he can't if he has no magic.

On his long journey to find this magician he faces lots of obstacles like Centaurs, dragons, illusionists etc.

I've only read 5 chapters so far, the 6th chapter begins with him finding the castle where the good magician lives.  I had to stop reading though because my eyes get blurry after awhile.  But this is a very good book.  Unfortunately, it's a loooong story.  It only shows 17 books in the series in the front of the book but someone told me there are 24 and I'm only on book 1 lol.  I have a ways to go.

Looking for my dad

I have posted this in the main section of my website under the title Missing Father but I've been getting visits to my websites thanks to the robots or spiders or whatever from Google using key words in my blog entries.  So now I would like to copy and paste that entire page into this blog post in hopes that someone who is connected will get a email from Google saying that I made a blog with my paternal fathers name.

_______________________

My mother Bonnie McDonald (her name in 1969) was in a relationship with Ron Shirtliff some time in 1969 and I was conceived around October - November 1969.  I was born premature on June 2nd 1970 so I'm guessing sometime late October or any time in November 1969 was when they still had their relationship.  Something happened and he ended it and left and she failed to tell him that she was pregnant because she didn't want to make him feel trapped (this is my assumption) but she kept in contact with his mother until I was about 3 or 4 years of age.  When I turned 15 in 1985 she told me about him but her story wasn't the right  story.  She didn't want me to think badly of her because of the truth of the relationship which was he was married.

In the early 90's I asked her for his name and she refused to tell me and she asked me not to look for him for her own personal reasons but I also found those reasons to be untrue and I know the reason but I wont reveal them here.  She took his name with her to the grave and any information about his or his mothers whereabouts.

In the mid 90's I tried looking for him but with just a picture there was not much I could do.  I didn't have his name or social security number and even Unsolved Mysteries wouldn't air the photo of him.  Not knowing anything about him I gave up the search.  Some time around 2002 I got in touch with my Aunt Betty and she revealed to me the whole truth about the relationship and even gave me a name.  I am one step closer but I am still at square 1.  Without a social security number I have nothing.  I have recently restored the one and only picture I have of my real father and grandmother and colorized it.  It makes me feel good to have this restored and in color.  It has also gotten me to start my search again.  I have been scouring the search engines and military websites to try to find some trace of him.  Eventually I'm going to have to cough up the money to one of those agencies online because I have found his name through them but they wont give me any information unless I pay them for it and even then I wont know for sure that that is him.  I wish I could say that money is no object but unfortunately I can't.  I'm poor.

Here is a picture of my birth father and grandmother.  If anyone out there can help me it is much appreciated.  You can contact me by email using the form (or just reply in this post) I have on this website.  There are many different variations of the last name that I have seen on search engines.  There are Shirtliff, Shurtliff, Shirtleff and Shurtleff.  As far as I know my grandmother lived in Reseda, CA in the 60's and 70's and possibly 80's across the street from Reseda High School or in that neighborhood.  I don't know her name though.

_______________________

That is the pasted story from my website and as you can see there are several spellings of his last name.  If someone does see this blog and you are him or a son, brother, cousin... whatever, I am not looking for him because I want something in return.  I just want to fill a void in my life.  I want to know who my real father is, where I come from.  I don't care about the circumstances of the relationship of him and my mother and I would hope that after 39 years there wouldn't be any thought about any of that.  I just want to know who my daddy is.  And, if I have a brother or a sister or any cousins I want to meet them.

If for some reason my real father doesn't want to meet me I am ok with that.  But please, someone let me know so I can stop looking.  I don't want to be left in the dark.  I just want the pain to go away in my heart.  If it can't be filled then I will go on with my life knowing that I tried and that I wasn't able to find him because he didn't want to find me.  But please, don't leave me hanging.  Just reply in this blog post saying so and I will delete all message board posts and I will delete this blog post and the page on my website.  I just hope that is not the case though.

Here is the colorized picture that I restored from the black and white and folded picture as well as a picture of my grandmother that my aunt let me have.

Wall-E

I finally rented Wall-E.  I was at the grocery store today and went to the red box looking for the Dead Like Me movie but it wasn't there so I rented Wall-E.  I wanted to rent the Dark Knight but then I saw Wall-E and got that instead.  I know, I could've rented both but I'm just so busy doing other things that I didn't think I would have time or patience for 2 movies.

I usually watch Sci-Fi on the weekends because they have strange themes.  Today is hurricane and reptile day lol.

Green Wheel

greenwheelOk I found this on dvice.com

GreenWheel gives any bike an electric push

I want one of these because when I go on my bike ride on the bike trail I usually go 11-18 miles and sometimes the bike trail has these hills (that they put in intentionally to give you a workout) but I'm so tired that I just can't make it up.  This will help.

Also I think it would help me get to the bike trail with no effort on my part then get me back home from the bike trail in 1 piece.  Usually by the time I get home from my bike ride 2 hours later I can barely walk, especially if I haven't been riding in awhile so while I'm letting it take me home my legs are resting so I can actually walk to the bathroom instead of using a walker.

Dead Like Me: Life After Death

dead-like-me-movieI blogged a couple days ago about Dead Like Me the new movie from the Showtime show and I just wanted to add a couple things.

If you haven't seen the first 2 seasons you've gotta check it out.  It's such a good show.  It stars Ellen Muth who plays Georgia "George" Lass who turns 18 and her mother forces her to get her life together and get a job.  So she goes to a temp agency called Happy Time but she doesn't get very far.  Especially since she gets killed by a toilet seat from a Russian space shuttle in outer space.

Instead of getting to move on and go into the light, the grim reaper who took her soul gets to move on and she gets to take his place.  She is then forced to take souls until she meets her expected quota then she can move on and go to her lights.  But she is very apprehensive about it.

The reapers live among us but they don't have the same face they had when they were alive to protect them and their families. But like us they have to make a living which means they have to have lives even though they are dead.  As dead George, or Millie, she gets a job with Happy Time where she went when she was alive and she gets the job thanks to her knowledge from when she was alive.

She is in a group of 4 other reapers.  There is Roxy (Jasmine Guy) who was a meter maid but became a cop, Daisy (Originally Laura Harris, now Sarah Wynter in the movie) who is an actress, Mason (Callum Blue) who is well, Mason.  And then there is Rube.  Rube (Mandy Patinkin) is the guy who hands out the post it notes which has the name, location and time of death so you know who to reap, when and where.

That's basically the story, George isn't supposed to interact with her family who she left behind but she does like to keep an eye on them and we as an audience get to see how their lives are going as they mourn the loss of George.

The movie basically follows the show a few years later.  Unfortunately, Rube has moved on and so they have a new boss who is a corporate type.  I can't wait to see it and find out what happens.  If you like this story then rent or buy it.

If you buy it they will make more movies or they will continue the series on Showtime.  Trust me, you will like this.

Comic Books

Wow, I didn't know there were so many comic books out there.  I knew about the obvious ones, Spiderman, Superman, X-Men etc.  But there are some that I didn't know about like from tv shows that I watch or used to watch but are now gone.

Here is a list of comic books from tv shows that I used to watch

  • Futurama

  • The Simpsons

  • Eureka!

  • Farscape (I actually missed that show because we didn't have cable when it was on.  I found out about it way later and by then they were in their last season so I just got to see a few episodes)

  • Buffy the vampire slayer (I actually knew about this)

  • Star War

  • World of Warcraft (from the game?)

  • Angel (is this the Buffy spin off or something else?)

  • Doctor Who

  • Ghost Whisperer

This list is from G-Mart, that page you can order comic books.  I seriously didn't know that there were that many comic books.  I used to love comic books as a kid, especially Mad Magazine and I wish I still got it or some comic books.  That would be so neat.  I'd love to get the Buffy, Angel, Doctor Who and Ghost Whisperer comic books.  Eureka! and Farscape would be cool too.  Some of them are $2 a month and some are $5 a month.  Too much for me right now.  Plus I've missed all the earlier from the beginnings so I'm sure I've missed tons of information.  Oh well.

Too Much Reality

It all started in the 1990's with the Real World on MTV.  Then I think Big Brother came out in 2000 or somewhere along those lines.  Then survivor and those shows are OK because they are more like a game.  But now you can't change the channel without seeing a reality show.

It's not a game anymore.  Some shows are games but mostly it's the life of someone I don't even know.  There is Keeping up with the Kardashian's.  The father of all these kids except for Bruce Jenner's kids, is the lawyer from the OJ case.  I really don't want to see these brats you know?  Then there are the bounty hunter and his messed up family, then there are the family's who repossess cars and exterminate bugs and rats and snakes.  Come on.

Ok, I realize that without all these reality shows we wouldn't have 1000 channels to choose from.  I don't exactly have 1000 channels to choose from because the cable package I have gives me like 200 channels but still.  I wanna see some acting and I wanna see some struggling actors getting their fair share you know?  There are so many actors who are starving who their agents can't find them work because there aren't enough shows or movies for their particular look.  I think that these channels should at least do a reality show with the starving actors and actresses.

Every time I change the channel it's a reality show on either A&E or Bravo or E! or whatever.  There are some channels where you never see reality shows like Sci-Fi (except for their who wants to be a super hero but that is a game show) and Comedy Central (except for Drawn together but that's a cartoon about a reality show lol funny stuff).  Or TNT and TBS, I never hear about reality shows there, all they have are movies and reruns of TV shows except they also have their own sitcoms and dramas.

Oh, and what happened to MTV and VH1?  They are all reality and no MUSIC!  What's up with that?  Come on MTV and VH1, show me some music TV.  If you want MTV2 and VH1-2 to have reality fine, but your first channel should still play music dammit.

Girls Next Door

Have you ever watched this show the Girls Next Door on E!?  I wasn't always a huge fan of Hugh Hefner because I'm not real into looking at naked women in skin mags.  But I do like the show about him and his 3 girlfriends.  In some strange way these girls are kinda like role models for girls.  Huh?  (sound of record being scratched here).  Yes, I said it.

I was watching an episode where they surprise this girl who is just turning 18 and her mother says that there aren't a lot of good role models on TV anymore but these girls are.  Uh, OK.

Although I haven't been watching the show from the beginning, I do watch it occasionally and it is very glamorous.  They live in a mansion and get to do whatever they want and never have to work.  They do fun stuff so the "reality" show has something to show.

Unfortunately the show is coming to an end on March 1st because all 3 ladies are leaving Hef.  They have been living with him all these years and the time has come for them to start living normal lives where they can actually get married to someone and have children of their own.

What's next for Hef?  Will this mean the end of the show or will he continue it for another season with 3 new girls?  I don't think it will be the same with 3 new girls.  I mean, if these 3 ladies continue to do the show but just have their own homes but still work for Hef then I'd still watch it.  Bridget works on the Playboy Sirius show and Holly works with Playboy to find new girls for the magazine.  What does Kendra do?  Well, I know that she is going to get married to a football guy, I think.  I know Holly is going to be with Kriss Angel.  I wonder what will happen.  I do kinda hope it comes back for a new season, whether with new girls or the same girls, I guess I'll find out.

Electronic Glue

I found this Firefox add on called Glue.  What it does is when you are searching for a book, CD or movie on say for example Amazon or the Walmart website and you are looking at let's just say a book, this bar comes down on the top of your screen with little icons which are pictures of people who have also visited that book through whatever website.  You move your mouse over their picture to see what they said about the book.  If there is blue around their box it means they loved it but if it's yellow then they wrote a review.

I actually like it because it saves me from having to scroll down and read a lengthy review.  This allows you 140 characters so you can leave a short to the point review.  It's a lot easier and if a person likes the same thing you like then you can add them to your friends list so that you can see if they like other things you like.

Dead Like Me Movie

Last night I found out that there was a Dead Like Me movie.  I saw it on Facebook as an ad in the right side.  I thought it was for the tv series that only lasted 2 seasons but it was for the movie.  So I got curious about it and was looking at the Facebook page and saw a video which was a commercial on YouTube.  It looked pretty interesting.

When Dead Like Me first came to Showtime, I saw all the billboards and there were commercials for it on the Sci-Fi channel and stuff but I couldn't watch it because I didn't have Showtime back then.  But then one night I was sitting at my desk a few years ago and it was on Sci-Fi channel.  I was finally able to watch it and I watched the entire 2 seasons I think in a couple of months on Sci-Fi.

Now the movie.  I don't know when they made the movie but it was released on video a few days ago on February 17th 2009.  Why did it go straight to DVD and not go in theaters?  That's strange.  The sex in the city movie was in theaters.

I for one can't wait to buy or rent this movie.  I wonder if the Red Box has it at the store?  There was a video on YouTube where Ellen Muth sounded like she was on the phone leaving a message saying buy the DVD, if you download it instead of buying it you are preventing us from making more movies or possibly continuing new seasons.

Ok Ellen, I won't download it but in this economy I can't buy it either.  I don't know how anyone can expect people to splurge on things like buying blu-ray and DVD movies with our economy the way it is.  I mean if you still have your job that's one thing, go ahead, help the economy out by buying movies.  But mostly people don't have their jobs anymore so they can't afford to spend any of their savings on anything but groceries and paying their bills.  I for one am one of the people suffering from this economy so I definitely cannot buy the DVD just yet.

Edit: I just wanted to clarify something.  When I say I don't know how anyone can expect... I don't mean any one person in particular.  I mean like the companies who are putting DVD's out and the companies who are selling DVD's.  It's the same with Amazon selling their Kindle 2 for $359.  How can they expect to sell those right now?  Why couldn't they wait for the economy to get back on track.  They can't judge how well a movie or tv show is doing by it's DVD sales because I'm sure DVD sales have dropped 50% or more.

Chimp Attacks Woman

I just read this story on the AOL news page about a woman who has a Chimpanzee who raised him from a baby and this chimp was treated like a real human being.  This woman's husband died and he basically put himself in the deceased husbands place I think.  When the woman left the house the chimp would be sad but when she left with someone else he took that like she was cheating on him.

Here is the story: Chimp Was Unusually Close to Owner

Here is my opinion.  Chimps belong in the jungle with other chimps.  They don't belong on TV shows with truck drivers (Although BJ and the Bear was a good show) and they don't belong with families with children or with lonely widows.  They belong with their own kind.  You don't see any human children being left in the jungle to be raised by monkeys do you?  There are no real Tarzan's or George of the jungles or that kid from jungle story.  The 2 species should never intermingle.  Especially considering we "evolved" from them.

Yes it would be cute and fun to dress a monkey up in your childs clothes and put a baseball cap on him and put diapers on him (although it wouldn't be fun changing said diaper).

"She gave him the finest food, and wine in long-stemmed glasses. They took baths together and cuddled in the bed they shared."

That's sick.  A friend of hers came over to the house and the monkey went ballistic and started ripping her face off and this poor woman now has to have surgery to put her face back together.  The widow stabbed her own pet and was yelling on the 911 tape to SHOOT HIM.  How can you deal with that?  Stabbing your own pet and telling the cops to shoot him.  OMG this is why the laws need to change.  This is a wild animal lady.  You don't keep a wild animal in your house.

Tiny Bluetooth Music Earphones...

OK, this is what I've been wishing for for a very long time.

Tiny Philips Bluetooth music earphones have a magic gestural interface

Unfortunately it's for cell phones only.  I would like for this to be available for iPod's or any type of mp3 player.  All you'd need is a receiver that plugs into the earphone jack and it would have a rechargeable battery inside one of the ear buds that when you are not using them you place them in a charging station.  This would be so cool for people who are joggers or bike riders.  It would even be great for me when I'm doing dishes.  Or if you get bored easily you can wear them in church hello!  Nobody will know as long as you just wear 1 and if you have long hair just put the hair on top of it.  Or if you are a guy, I don't know lean your head on your hand the whole time, I don't know lol.  Get creative.

Sadly this is still just a dream of mine but I'm glad someone finally made it, for cell phones but that's where it starts right?  Next it will be for mp3 players hopefully.

The wait for Kindle 2

While all of the people who have already ordered the Kindle 2 have to wait for their Kindle to be delivered to them, I will have to wait just a bit longer than that.  I simply don't have the money and in today's economy I just can't justify spending the money on something I really don't need.

I just don't read that much.  I thought maybe if I had one then perhaps I would read more.  Unfortunately though that probably won't be the case.  I would probably get my Kindle then read a book, maybe 2 books then I'd probably never pick it up again.  At least for awhile that is.

Sure I might buy a subscription to a newspaper and just give it to Chip to read that every morning and he could take it to Church with him every Sunday (yes, there is a bible available for the Kindle) but for me, I just can't justify it.

I want it but I don't need it.  I have lots of books that I still haven't even read.  I've tried to but I just can't get into them.  And I've already paid for them.  What am I gonna do, type them out so I can read them on my Kindle?  I don't think so.

So what my plan to do is just set aside maybe $20 or $30 every month in my PayPal account and then in a year when I have the money saved up to buy a Kindle if I still want it then I'll buy it.  But only if I can.  I mean, if I've had to spend some of that money on groceries or for emergency bills then of course I will have to use that saved money.  But if that isn't the case and I still have it then I might buy it.

But given the fact that it would take a whole year (saving $30 a month would be exactly 12 months) to save up the money, by then they may have the Kindle 3.  And who knows what the Kindle 3 will feature.  Maybe a bigger display, bigger hard drive than the now 2GB for the kindle 2.  Color display.  Touch screen to flip pages and to highlight text.  Maybe it might be a little less money by then?

I'm hoping that in a year if I have the money all saved up that when I am finally able to buy one the price might have gone down, our local newspaper will be Kindleized, the kindle will be in color and have touchscreen and have a 20-200GB hard drive.  Because I just don't want to spend money on something that can only hold 1,500 books, magazines, newspapers and blogs and still be in black and white.

I'm going to hold out for the best and why shouldn't I?  I'm also going to hype it up to everyone I know so they will be so excited about it that they will buy a Kindle 2 for themselves then they will hype it up and so on and so forth then 50% of America will have a Kindle all thanks to me hyping it up.  By that time, the Kindle 3 should cost $100.

Kindle Pays For Itself

I was looking at the Amazon website again (yeah yeah yeah) and I was looking at the reviews for the newspapers just to see if it was worth it.  I saw that for Time magazine people were saying they were disappointed because there were no pictures, just articles.  Well, you need pictures with articles, especially in time magazine.

So I went to the New York Times newspaper and scrolled down to the reviews and the 2nd review from the top this guy said that he was paying $35 a month for his paper but now he pays $14 a month.  So basically the Kindle pays for itself from what amount this guy is saving from getting the digital version of his newspaper.

This person pays $420 a year for his new york times newspaper. He now pays $14 a month instead of $35 so now he pays $168 per year which means he is now saving $252 a year on the newspaper. The kindle doesn't exactly pay for itself in a year but maybe a year and half.  That'll work.

I don't know how much our newspaper is because I don't pay for it, Chip pays for it because he is who reads it.  I don't even read the newspaper.  I asked him how much he pays and he couldn't recall.  I said is it like $15 a month?  $20 a month?  He said yeah I guess.  Currently our local newspaper is not available for the Kindle but it is available at www.newsstand.com for $10 a month but you have to view that on a PC or a laptop via browser or you can download it and view it through software called iBrowse.  You can also print pages.  If it were available via Kindle then that might be incentive enough for me to buy one so he can read the newspaper but unfortunately it's not so, oh well.

But it is good to know that the Kindle pays for itself with certain newspapers and magazines.

Kindle Comic Books?

I wonder if someone can respond to this.  I'm very curious about Comic Books being available on the Kindle 2.  I know that some comic books are full size like magazines so you have a larger page and if it's shrunk down for the kindle will it be harder to read.  Or perhaps if it is available for the Kindle, will you only get 1 box at a time,  What about the bigger boxes that take up the whole page of the comic book?  That will definitely be harder to read.  Maybe it would have a zoom?  Or does the Kindle 2 have zoom?

I think it would be a cool idea to have comic books available on your Kindle.  If someone googles Comic Book with the word Kindle please respond to this if you find this post and let me know what you think.  Is this going to be available?  Would you like it to become available or is it just better to have them in paper form for their value in the future?

Just so that I don't look like a complete moron, I went to Amazon and searched for comic books and found this Serenity, Vol. 1: Those Left Behind [ILLUSTRATED] (Paperback).  I see that it's not available for Kindle so I clicked the "I'd like to read this on Kindle" link.  Yeah, I know, I don't have a kindle yet but I've been clicking that for a lot of books just so they do become available.  At some point I'd like to get one, some day.  But that Serenity book says paperback but it is a comic book.

I looked up Spiderman comic books and they all say paperback and they all have the "I'd like to read this on Kindle" link.

Future PSP Dream

I had this dream that I was in a department store like Walmart or whatever, I don't remember where it was.  Sometimes in dreams you end up somewhere and you have no idea where.  And I was in the electronics department (yeah big surprise lol) and there was a PSP sitting on a box in front of the counter and it was turned on.

I picked it up and showed the sales lady that there was a PSP on the box and she said it's a demo, go ahead and play with it.  I looked at it and it was odd.  The screen wasn't as glossy as the PSP-2000, I'm guessing it was the same as the PSP-3000.  And the right side was missing completely.  The buttons were gone as well as the top right button.  It was obviously smoothed out so it wasn't cut.  I cropped an image of a PSP to show how it looked.

pspbatman

Obviously the button on the bottom wasn't cut in half in the dream, Actually there wasn't any space between the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the PSP.  I don't know what buttons were on the left side but there were buttons.  And it was all touch screen too.  Oh and I remember it was so light too.  I mean, my PSP is light but the PSP is my dream was so much lighter, it was like half the weight of the current PSP Slim.

I touched the screen and moved my finger and the screen changed, I mean it moved as if I was pressing the arrow buttons to move around.  I'm assuming the buttons on the left were the triangle, square, circle and x buttons.

It was really cool but then all of a sudden I was outside and there was a tiger in a tree trying to save her cub and there was a woman in a dress which was dark green then faded to light green and had these black lines on them.  All of a sudden the tigers fur changed and it looked just like the dress as if it were a chameleon.

Weird huh?

Pet Toxins

I got an email about Pet Toxins.  You know already that you can't give chocolate to your dog because they just cannot tolerate it and it will kill them.  This one time our dog Flower (toy chihuahua) ate half of a doughnut with chocolate frosting that Chip left on the couch while he went to the kitchen.  We rushed her to the vet with the doughnut and showed them how much she ate.  They said that she might feel a little sick and maybe even vomit but she'll be OK,  It wasn't enough to hurt her.

But is there ever any amount that is OK?  No.  That's why I'm listing foods that you absolutely cannot feed your dog or cat.

  • Grapes and Raisins - In dogs and cats, grapes can cause kidney failure.

  • Bread Dough - The dog's body heat will cause the dough to expand quickly resulting in severe abdominal pain and bloating. In some cases, death can occur if enough dough is eaten.

  • Chewing Gum - A dog might be attracted to the sweet-smelling gum that your kids are chewing or that's tucked away in your bag. But the artificial sweetener, xylitol, in many types of gum and breath mints, can be deadly to pets. The sweetener can cause a low-blood sugar crisis in your pet. In fact, just one pack of gum can kill a dog.

  • Macadamia Nuts - Ingesting these nuts can cause tremors, weakness, unsteadiness, depression, a rapid heart rate, and a dangerous rise in body temperature that can lead to other complications.

  • Nicotine - Nicotine is highly toxic so it doesn't take much to cause a health crisis for your pet, including seizures, coma and death.

  • Chocolate - Caffeine-like stimulants in chocolate known as methylxanthines can produce vomiting, diarrhea, excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures and even death.

  • Alcohol - Alcohol ingestion can lead to seizures, heart arrhythmia, vomiting, coma and death.

  • Pain Relievers - One tablet of acetaminophen can kill a cat.

  • Tea - Caffeine in your tea is toxic to both cats and dogs. Depending on how much is consumed and the size of your pet, ingesting it can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity, seizures, coma and even death.

  • Onions - Onions are toxic to dogs and cats whether they're raw or cooked. When ingested, onions can cause hemolytic anemia, a condition that destroys the red blood cells in the bloodstream. A dog with onion poisoning may become lethargic and have difficulty breathing. Generally, a large amount of onions would need to be consumed to pose a serious threat to your dog, but cats are highly sensitive to onion toxicity.

Wow, I didn't even know that about all these things.  I knew about chocolate but not the rest like the macadamia nuts.  Well, who can afford those anyway?

All I have to say is that the dog on Family Guy better stop smoking and drinking. (That was a joke hehe sorry Brian).

The source by the way is AOL Health.  The website address that this came from is Pet Toxins- AOL Health.  You gotta click the arrow on the picture for a pop up window that shows a top 11 list of what I listed.

Michael's

I know the economy is bad and most businesses are suffering greatly because of it.  I've gotten a coupon just about every day for the last 2 weeks from Michael's.  This is a company who I hardly ever get coupons from but maybe 4 times a year.  They are so hard up for business they are practically giving away their merchandise just to keep their stores in business.

I really do have some things that I want to buy but I just can't afford it.  I want to buy the wood burning kit along with some plain wood boxes and trays and round pieces of wood and rectangle and I would like the grease pencils that you use to color the wood when wood burning.

Wanting however and needing are 2 different things.  I can't afford so I don't need.  I want sure but do I need?  No.  I want them so I can learn how to do it so hopefully I can sell some stuff and make some extra money for the household but can I afford to find out if it's my thing, if it's not going to turn out to be another craft fad that I won't be able to figure out and it will sit in the corner?  No.  I can't afford to take that risk right now.

I think 6 months ago we were there so Chip could buy some painting stuff and while we were there I bought some drawing stuff that was on clearance but I knew I wouldn't get that into it so I didn't buy much.  Needless to say I didn't get much into it.  But I can see me using that as a tool to sketch out ideas for wood burning.  So who knows, I might not have wasted money on that stuff.  But for now, I did waste money on it because it sits in a drawer.

Sorry Michael's, your name is my name but that just isn't enough for me to be able to spend money to keep you afloat.  I really do wish this economy wasn't in the toilet though because if it wasn't believe me, I'd be there in a hot second buying stuff.

Oh, with this economy people aren't going to buy art so buying wood burning stuff to make money isn't going to work.  People are burning through their savings account to keep from becoming homeless, I highly doubt they are going to buy a wood slab with a picture of a horse or a dog on it.  And the people who still have their jobs are probably having to save all that they can just in case they lose their job.  Or their spouse is out of work so they are scraping by to make up for the loss of their wife or husband.

The Direction of Heroes

Season 1 of Heroes was fantastic.  I just loved it so much because it's right up my alley.  I love anything that is strange and supernatural.  Something that is not normal.  And this show has nothing but abnormalities.

Season 2 came along and it ended in the middle of the season thanks to the writers strike.  The creator/writer of the show didn't like the direction he was going, it was ok to me but he decided to end it and go for a season 3 and try to fix things.

Season 3 comes and it just goes in a totally different direction that I'm not sure I like.  Nathan is capturing people with abilities and holding them as prisoners?  What?  He has abilities.  What makes him so special?  Why doesn't Hiro have his ability and why can't Peter hold onto more than 1 power at a time like before?  That was the thing I liked about Peter and Hiro, their ability.  Also, it screws up the future because Peter came from the future to the past to change things and he had all his abilities that he had before.  If they are going to change the present then they have to change the future to reflect the present.

I hope that they put things back to the way they were because I'm about to stop watching it.  Ok, you know I won't.  I love Sylar too much to stop watching lol.  Him and his long thick black eyebrows hehe.

Fractured Toe

fractured-toeIf you've ever broken a toe before you already know that they can't do anything for you.  I don't know why but they can't fix toes, I guess they are too little and too insignificant to fix.  They serve no purpose other than being stinky.

Most people who know me and saw me growing up already know I have a depth perception issue.  When I would go to walk through a doorway as a child I'd see the doorway in my line of sight but as I got to it I'd end up hitting wall.  I don't know why.  My eyes are a tad bit crossed so I see 2 of everything but it's not that much to worry about.  I do get tunnel vision without my glasses so I normally should have them on at all times but sometimes my vanity doesn't allow it so I take them off and walk into walls hehe.

Yesterday I was in the living room and I was walking very fast to my bedroom and my right foot slammed into the door jam.  I don't know why, I was centered with the door frame so there was no reason for it, it just happened lol.  I screamed and dropped the f bomb a couple of times and then laughed while I was sitting on my bed.  The pain slowly went away and I thought all was good until I went to the doctor today (routine visit) and said oh by the way, I think I broke my toe.  He said that it's probably just fractured, it's still straight but because it is so badly bruised I've just fractured it.  Fracturing can make the blood rush to that spot and it looks bruised.

As a child I never bruised at all, you could punch me in the face (and I was) and I wouldn't bruise at all, or if I did it wouldn't last very long.  This one time I was visiting my Aunt Joyce in Palmdale, CA and I went to reach for my towel which was on the bathroom counter and I didn't want to get out and get the floor wet so I grabbed the towel rack to keep me from falling so I could reach for the towel but the aluminum towel rack bar came right off the brackets and even one of the brackets fell to the floor, I fell on the shower door track.  I had a giant bruise from my arm pit to my leg on my right side.  I showed my Aunt Joyce and it had faded 50% by that time.  Within 5 more minutes it was completely gone.

I had to tell you that so you would understand that I don't bruise so the bruise on my toe must mean that it's really bad.

Andrew Lawrence

Wow I was just at IMDB and was looking at Andrew Lawrence (affectionately known as Andy) and see that he will be 21 this year.  He is currently in The United States of Tara (2 appearances so far as Jason).

I remember watching Joey Lawrence when he was in Gimme' A Break, he was such a cute little kid and I knew from that show that he would make it big.  Now he's bald and the last thing he did was Dancing with the Stars.

I haven't seen Matthew in anything in a long time.  The last time I saw him he was on Boy Meets World.

I haven't seen the youngest brother in years, the last time I saw him he was in Brotherly Love with his 2 brothers.  I do remember him in Jack Frost but that was the last thing I saw him in.  According to IMDB he has a huge credit of 37 titles of movies and tv series.  Good for him.  He's been working since the age of 3.

Let's just hope that he continues to work so I can see him really grow up.  I'm just hoping that his character on US of Tara is not that of a homophobe.  Please Andy, don't be that guy in this show.

Aptera Electric Car

I just watched a story on Fox News about this new 3 wheel electric car that is coming out this October.  It only goes 100 miles on an 8 hour charge.  It has solar panels on the roof to keep the inside of the car cool and it keeps the motor cool while it's parked.  The news reporter showed how durable it is by banging on the top of the frame (before painted) with a really heavy hammer (looked like a small sledge hammer) and it didn't dent and there wasn't so much as a scratch.

www.aptera.com

This is basically a commuter vehicle.  It can have 2 passengers so you can pick up a co-worker and drive to work everyday and not spend 1 dime in gas.  But how much electricity does it use every night?  Does it use as much as a refrigerator or a computer or what?  I looked at their FAQ section, they won't disclose any of that, probably because it does use a heck of a lot of electricity to charge.

There are electric car parking spaces though in some places.  There is an Amtrak station in Lancaster, CA with like 3 or 4 electric car only parking spots.  What you do is you plug it in then I guess put dollar bills in it and let it charge while you are commuting on the train to work.  I guess.  But I'm sure as soon as it becomes the norm for people to have this car there will be more electric parking spots available for employees so they can charge while they work.

Edit: Found it...  Here is a quote on the Live page on the right side at the very bottom of the list of fuctions of the car.

Plug-in

Okay, almost time for bed. You can be proud of yourself because the 100 miles you have driven since you unplugged this morning only cost you about $0.50. And, just think, tomorrow morning your Aptera will be waiting for your next big adventure.

That's pretty impressive don't you think?  And the seats are recycled from plastic bottles.

Recycle

We just think this is cool, but the fabric your seat material is made of prevented bottles from ending up in a landfill. How about that for being environmentally responsible.

United States of Tara

There is this new show on Showtime called United States of Tara about this woman who suffers from Multiple Personalities Disorder (but she says it has been reclassified as DID (Dissociative identity disorder).

Unfortunately I didn't start watching this show when it began because I didn't see the commercials for it.  I usually only watch Showtime when Big Brother is on or Secret Diary of a Call Girl (notice my title?  hehe).

I was bored so I went to Showtime On Demand to see what I can watch and I was going through the shows and found it and was glad they have it from episode 1.  It's pretty good.  Her personalities are really funny lol.

The first episode showed her teenager personality "T" who gets high and tries to sleep with Tara's husband, who wouldn't?  It's John Corbett.  Then there was the redneck guy "Buck" with his giant glasses, Larry the Cable Guy type shirt, trucker cap with the missing penis which got blown off in Vietnam lol.  I guess when your penis gets blown off in nam you grow breasts?  Then there is the homemaker "Alice" who looks like June Cleaver and she bakes and tries to have sex with Tara's husband lol.

I was glad to see Andrew Lawrence (Joey Lawrence's little brother) but unfortunately he's a church going homophobe.  Tara's son Marshall is gay and he likes Andy's character but apparently he's not gay.  That I know of.  I think he might be in the closet because his father is the pastor of the church.

I like this show, it's progressive.  The kids are allowed to say every word in the book and the parent's don't even flinch when the 12 year old son says the F word.  It's a pretty good show.  I'm only on episode 4 and there are 6 in total so I'm gonna go back to it.

I've watched all 6 episodes so far as well as all the bonus interviews and I'm happy to add this to my queue of shows that I watch.  Since it is available on Showtime On Demand if I miss an episode and don't catch the repeat then I can watch it on demand.  I look forward to see what happens with Marshall and Andy Lawrence's character, to see if he really is gay and if they become a couple or not.  I mean, the son is really young.  He looks 12 to me but he could be 14 for all I know.  And there is nothing wrong with a 12 or 14 year old having a boyfriend.

Oh that's another thing, that he's gay and both his parents are perfectly cool with it.  That hits a chord with me because I grew up with homophobic parents who ended up kicking me out of the house because I was gay at 17.  I'd give up my parent's for progressive parents even if one of them dresses like a dude, teenage girl and June Cleaver.

Edit: I looked up the son Marshall on IMDB and apparently in real life the actor is 16.  So my theory of the character being 12 might be wrong hehe.  It would make more sense though that the 16 year old son is in love with his 16 year old classmate.  Assuming Andy's character is 16 and not a 21 year old who got held back a lot lol.  So much for no child will be left behind eh?

White Castle Burgers

No we don't have a White Castle here where I live in Bakersfield, CA but they do sell the little mini burgers in the frozen foods section of our grocery store.  I didn't buy those because I wanted to make them my own way.

I've been seeing these commercials a lot lately for Big City Slider thing that you take this measuring spoon and scoop up the hamburger meat and put the balls into this thing, it has 5 slots and when you filled them all you press them down with the lid.  You then cook the mini burgers directly on your stove top and keep the lid on it and it cooks them from both sides, top and bottom.  It cooks them all the way through to the middle much faster than if you have to flip them.

Well, I don't have the $25 to shell out for one of those ($20 plus shipping) so instead I just went to the store and bought 1 1/2lb of ground beef (80% fat free) and I had an egg and I bought some bread crumbs and mixed the meat with the egg and bread crumbs and Chip added some BBQ spices to the mixture.  I then rolled them by hand and smashed them by hand and cooked them on the skillet.  I then sliced the entire package of Hawaiian rolls and spread mayo on tops and bottoms then put the little mini burgers on the rolls.

The commercial makes you look so incompetent like you can't make white castle burgers without making a complete mess of things and without the burgers breaking apart lol.  I didn't have any problems and I also saved $25 so there Billy Maye's hehe :p.

Since the package of rolls had 12 I had 6 and Chip had 6.  Luckily there was enough meat.  I thought I was going to be forced to eat 2 rolls without meat hehe.  I love those rolls.  The Hawaiian rolls were so much better than regular plain old rolls too.  I recommend those when making white castle burgers.

Oh, why you ask did I use 1 egg?  My mom taught me when I was a kid that the egg will keep the burgers from falling apart and she's right.  They don't fall apart.

Authors Guide To Sue Amazon

I'm obsessed with the Kindle 2.  I can't stop googling it lol.

I found this article about how the authors guild is suing Amazon because of the text-to-speech feature on the Kindle 2.  Because they sell books plus they sell books on tape so by having a text-to-speech feature available, they are giving away the audio book version for free with the sale of e-books.  But that is so not true because nothing can compare to the emotion in the voice of a person reading a book on a tape or cd.  It's totally not the same because text-to-speech sounds robotic.  There is no emotion.  We will see what happens.  I mean, what's preventing people from using text-to-speech on their PC to listen to e-books?  They aren't suing Microsoft.

New look

Yesterday I changed my theme so it's a bit easier to read.  The red is gone for good.  I just found that the text was too small and I'm sure that's why I wasn't getting too many views.

This new theme the text is bigger and the banner on the top is going to be random images from EverQuest.  I took a whole bunch of screen shots in EQ for this so just need to find the random banner changer plug in again.  I'm pretty sure that was for banner ad's but why wouldn't it work with the page banner?  Right?  I'm talking to myself lol.

Kindle Blog

I was looking at Kindle the other day and as I was there I saw that you can read peoples blogs on the kindle.  I thought that you could just go to either their website or there was a think where you tell them who you subscribe to but apparently it's not like that.

If you want to read a blog their blog site has to be registered through Kindle and you have to pay for it.  Well, I don't want to charge people to read my ramblings.  Although the money would be nice but why charge people when they can read it for free here through my website either on the PC or through a mobile phone like the iPhone or iPod or even PSP.

If they make it so that I don't have to charge people at all then I will add it to Kindle but I honestly don't know anyone who even has a Kindle.  I would like to publish my blog though because I currently have 0 readers.  So frankly, nobody is going to read this.  Hell, I don't even read my own blog.  I just blog it.  I do read it after I've posted it to see if there are any corrections needed or I go back.  Anyway lol I was rambling.  I would like to get it on Kindle but not as a pay blog.

Little known fact about...

There is a little known fact about sleep apnea that most people don't realize.  I've been using a Bi-Pap machine (in case someone is unaware, it's a machine that has a mask that I put over my nose, the hose goes to the machine and the machine pushes air into my lungs so I can sleep at night because my airway closes when I sleep) for a couple of years now and when I wake up every single morning I have a dry mouth (due to some medications, so say the people at the C-Pap Company) and also my nose is dry.

My bi-pap machine has a little tank filled with water which is on a heater also known as a evaporator.  The heat heats the water and then the air pushes the evaporated water into my nose and lungs so I don't wake up with a dry nose, throat, lungs and mouth.  Well, it doesn't work that great.  As I said it's due to my medication but I don't know.  I mean, my nose is always so dry that it starts hurting.  I'm always sniffling because of the dryness and I am also doing this half twitch, you know like Samantha in Bewitched, I don't do the full twitch, just half to try to I don't know actually why I do it but I'm always doing it lol.

So tonight I was flossing and I went to look for toothpaste and came across this tube that looked like toothpaste but it was Vaseline so I squirted some on a Q-Tip and put it inside my nostrils around inside there to cover up all the dry areas.  It's only been a few minutes and it is already starting to help.  I never thought about that before and I'm glad I saw it.

I don't normally use Vaseline (hush you) because it's a female product in my opinion.  I remember watching my mom after she got out of the shower and had her nightgown on and she just started smearing that stuff all over her legs and arms.  She had psoriasis so I don't know if that's why, because her legs and arms were dry from that.  But she also would put it on her face full of make-up and she would use a wash rag to wipe it all off and all the make-up was gone.  So because I've never really had a need for it I don't buy it.  But it is a good product I guess.

If this works with my nose then perhaps I might think about buying some more if I run out of what I have.  I'm really sick of all this dryness in my nose.

KFC Weekend Special

Starting today until Tuesday Feb 17th, KFC has a weekend special for President's day.  Although their weekend special seems to be about 6 days.  Anyway, the commercial says that you get a whole chicken which is 8 pieces, mashed potato's and gravy, cole slaw and 4 biscuits all for $12.95.

Well, it's kinda false advertising.  A whole chicken would consist of 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 legs (drumsticks) and 2 wings.  We went there today and the pieces were 4 thighs and 4 legs.  Not exactly a whole chicken.

Personally it doesn't matter to me.  2 pieces of chicken, mashed potato's and gravy, cole slaw and a biscuit is enough for 1 meal.  Chip bought an extra order of Macaroni and cheese, the family size and I added 4 apple turnovers (2 for him and 2 for me).

We don't normally go there because they are a bit expensive compared to Albertson's chicken dinner which is like 8 pieces of chicken and 1lb of salad (cole slaw, potato salad or macaroni salad) and a package of 4 Hawaiian rolls for like $5.  I do prefer KFC over grocery store chicken but I just can't afford it.

It was good though mmmm mmmm so good.

Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman

On February 11th 2009, Joaquin Phoenix was a guest on the David Letterman show.  Wow, was he messed up.  This guy who was once gorgeous now looks like the unibomber.  Take a look.

There was a video right here from YouTube of Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman but CBS forced YouTube to take it down due to copyright infringement.

By the way, this is my 500th blog post YAY WOOHOO!  Eh, whatever.

My Last Kindle Obsessed Post.... Maybe

Ok, 1 last thing about the Kindle.  I know I mentioned in my first Kindle post about how you can email your text files to your Kindle but as I read more about it I find out more stuff.

It's not just text files.  It's also pdf files so if you have a manual in pdf format then you will have it on your Kindle.  Sometimes if you buy like a DVD player or a printer or whatever, I'm pulling at straws here, you can go to that manufacturers website and download the manual in pdf format.  Well, who wants to sit and read the manual on the computer?  Especially if the hardware you need to read about is in the other room.  Say it's your tv's manual or your washer and dryer.  You can just download that and send it to your Kindle and it converts it to Kindle format so you can read it.

I'm not sure if the Kindle puts your e-books, e-magazines and e-newspapers in categories or not, I think it would be a good idea though because if you get e-newspapers you will want them to be stores in there in folders.  Like say you get the LA times and the NY times.  Well, you don't want them to be in the same area as everything else like your books.  If you get the newspaper and magazines on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis then the list will be too long so if you want to search for the book you are reading you have to scroll through the list of stuff.

Ok getting back to what I was talking about with sending text and pdf files to your kindle.  You can also download free e-books and send them to your kindle.  Oh and I read you can send pictures too.  Now, I'm not too sure about pictures with black and white technology.  I think I would much rather enjoy my pictures in color so that would certainly be something I would want to have but somewhere down the line when it has color.  Right now I have all of my photo albums cropped to widescreen 3x5 for my PSP and the pictures are pretty small so when I go to show them off it's still a good size to look at but you know, it's still small.  But at least I can carry all of my pictures.  But you can't see them in the sunlight on my PSP.

Oh that reminds me.  You can read your kindle out in the sunlight and it shows up just like a regular book thanks to e-ink.  The screen isn't shiny either so there is no glare from the screen.  If you are using a cell phone or pda or something as an e-book you have to cover it with your hands to be able to see it outside in the sunlight.  Well, the Kindle with e-ink allows you to actually see what you are reading.  And since it doesn't have a tv type of a screen you can't see it in the dark but the new Kindle 2 has lights around the page I think on both sides.  Or maybe that was another e-book, I don't remember now, I'm getting them confused.  I did see a Kindle light that clips to the kindle but it was made for the Kindle 1.

Ok, I can't make any promises that I won't obsess any more about this.  I've pretty much touched on everything that I can think of but who knows, maybe tomorrow I might read about something that I didn't know and obsess about that.  Maybe my obsession will have so much text that you will have to convert it all into pdf format and it will be so long that it will be your next e-book or e-novel.  Maybe I'll shut up about it.  Who knows.

Amazon Kindle 2

In my previous blog about e-books I talked about the pro's and con's of e-books.  Well, most of the day I've been obsessively researching e-book technology and I have to say that I'm really excited about the future.

E-books use e-ink.  They don't hardly use any power so the battery lasts a whole week.  You turn it on, press the menu and find the book you are reading, and by the way it shows in that menu the page you were on so you don't have to find where you were at, it keeps it bookmarked from the last page you were reading.  Then you click the book you want to read and start reading.  Once that page is loaded it stops using any of the power from the battery.  You can have it sitting there for an hour on that page and it won't use any power.  Once you press the button to turn the page then it uses power to turn the page then you see the words change and then no more power usage.  The battery will last basically a week before you have to charge it at all.  And when you do charge it, it takes about 2 hours to charge.

If however you are flipping through the Amazon website and flipping through pages of a e-magazine then yeah, it's going to use a lot more of your battery and it will probably last 2 or 3 days before needing charged.

I love the idea of waking up every morning and the newspaper is already downloaded on your kindle.

It would also be good if the catalog companies would deliver their catalogs directly to your Kindle so that you don't have to 1, wait for them to come in the mail and clog up your mail box and 2, waste paper when you throw it out.  This way you can flip through them then delete the file when you are finished reading it.  That is if you decide you want to, you can keep it if you want.

Another thing I want to obsess er um I mean discuss is the hard drive.  The previous Kindle 1 from last year only has a 256mb hard drive allowing you to store 200 e-books but the new Kindle 2 has a 2GB allowing you to have a hell of a lot more.  I don't know exactly how many but it's a lot.  Can you just imagine maybe in another year or 2 when they come out with the Kindle 3 it might have 2TB.  Then you will have a crap load of books and magazines and newspapers.  You won't ever have to delete anything because you will have tons of room.

As I said in my last post, I'm waiting for it to be cheaper, in color and have touch screen.  Well, I watched a video today of the guy who invented Amazon talking to Martha Stewart and she kept mentioning color e-ink and he said it was in the labs.  Not their labs but in labs period.  Well, I've been seeing e-books with color e-ink so I know it is possible and I'm sure in Kindle 3 it will have color e-ink.

My other issue is about the touch screen.  I think is is a lot better than buttons.  I saw an e-book from Dvice.com that was touch screen, all you do is press and drag the page and it turns the page, or you just press the right side of the pager to flip it.  And also when you are on the website trying to buy a book you touch the screen for the keyboard and it comes up so you can type the name of the author or book title.  I think the Kindle keyboard is just too much.  Although it does have more of a use than just buying books, you can make notes in your books.  You can also highlight sentences.

Digital books, Newspapers and Magazines

Have you seen the new e-books that are coming out?  If you go to www.dvice.com you can see the new Kindle 2 along with 5 other e-books.  This is the future of reading people.

I see some pro's and con's to this whole concept.  The pro's that I see are a more green way of reading.  You don't have to worry about the fact that they are cutting down trees for your reading pleasure.  All your newspaper and magazine subscriptions come straight to your e-book automatically on the date they are normally delivered to your doorstep or mailbox.

But the con's are that if you want to buy a magazine that you see at the grocery store at the checkout counter, you can't because they are all gone.  That's the beauty of buying those rag magazines is that you normally wouldn't buy a subscription, you just get 1 magazine.  And the newspaper is sorta similar, some people don't want it every day, they just want 1 paper.  And you won't be able to clip out an article and paste it in a album showing that you were in the newspaper.  Instead now you have to go to the newspapers website and search for that article and print it out.  Or you can just take a picture of the article up on the screen on your e-book.

But on the other hand, if you are able to take a screen shot of the article then said article will never turn yellow over time.

**HUGE EDIT**  I took out how I talked about a huge flaw in the discount and the edit about how there is a discount but some books don't.  I guess if you buy a book with a huge $20 discount you can't complain when a book costs more than the actul paperback.  In those cases, just buy the paperback.

Me personally, I look forward to the digital conversion.  The Amazon Kindle 2 connects to their website so you can search for books and you don't have to pay for the connection to the internet.  And I SO look forward to the newspaper being digital because maybe if there is urgent news you might get an evening edition.  Who knows.

The only issue I have with this whole idea is that they are so freakin' expensive right now. $359 for the Amazon Kindle 1 and 2.  Ok, why is the Kindle 1 still $359?  The Kindle 2 has a bigger hard drive and 25% more battery life, it's also thinner and lighter.  The kindle 1 has 256mb hard drive, the kindle 2 has 2 GB.  Yet they are both the same price?  That makes no sense.  I think they should bring the price down on the Kindle 1 as an incentive to buy it as a starter e-book for people who can't afford it.  Then later when they want to upgrade then they can buy the Kindle 2.

What I am waiting for are 3 things.  The price to drop, color and touch screen.  I watched a video on the Amazon Kindle site where the guy who created Amazon was on Martha Stewart and she kept asking about color and he said that it's in the labs so it is going to be in a future e-book.  Let's hope there will be touch screen soon too for the Kindle.  I went to Sony's e-book site to check prices and they are way more than Amazon.  I'd much rather have the Kindle in that regard.

Add: I forgot to mention that one of the pro's of the Kindle is that you don't even need a computer to buy and download books, magazines and newspapers.  And if you want a document to be on your kindle you just email it to your kindle account and it converts the file to the kindle file so you can keep it there.  So you aren't just limited to Kindle books, if you buy a book somewhere else (or if someone gives you a copy of an e-book) you just email it and it converts it.

DTV Transition

OK, I've been seeing these DTV commercials since last year when they first started them.  It's not only commercials but a ticker at the top of the screen all freakin' day long.  Thank goodness I don't have to see that while watching my shows at night.

If you don't have a TV then you don't know what I'm talking about but basically it says that if you use an antenna to watch TV you have to buy a digital converter box and you can get a coupon from the government who is forcing this upon everyone for a free box.  The cable companies are even offering a very basic cable for $10 a month which is unusual.  I was paying $55 a month for basic cable which was 2-77 so I'm sure that $10 cable is 2-13 and all the UHF stations like PBS and the Spanish channels.

They were saying that you have until February 19th or somewhere around there to get this box or you will get static on the tv.  Well, now they've decided to postpone it until June 12th.  Well, that's good for all the procrastinators out there but it's not good for those of us who are well prepared because we gotta hear about it for another 5 months.  Can we please just stop these commercials and tickers?  Or if not stop them just limit them to 1000 times a day lol.  I mean come on, I am so sick of hearing about it.  I get it.  Put billboards up and quit interrupting my shows with your tickers.

A lot of the commercials are from Bright House cable telling me that I am taken care of because I have Bright House Cable but that I need to tell all my Antenna friends to upgrade.  Please stop these commercials lol.  I don't want to keep hearing about it.  Oh and after June 12th they are going to continue the commercials for another year telling me to tell all the people who don't get a signal anymore to get cable lol.

Caylee Anthony Memorial

The Caylee Anthony memorial was today and Casey had the opportunity to watch it on tv but she didn't even ask for it.  What the heck is wrong with this woman?  Is she that deranged that she won't even watch her own daughters funeral service?

Doesn't she know that every action has a consequence?  By not requesting to watch it on tv she is implicating herself even more because had she watched it and cried the jury would see that she has at least some remorse for murdering her own daughter and they wouldn't be so harsh on her.  Or it would've shown the jury that maybe she didn't do it.  Who knows.

At least by watching it she would've shown the jury and the public that she doesn't have a heart of stone or ice.

14 Children

There is this story that everyone is talking about.  This woman who is unemployed and not married had 6 children but she is addicted to having children.  I believe that she had all of her first 6 children via fertility doctor.  I know that she went back to the fertility doctor for her other 8 kids that she had all at once.  Apparently they were all frozen and she didn't want them to go to waste so she had them all put inside her.

"The Web site posted photographs from inside Angela Suleman's disheveled three-bedroom home, where Nadya and her brood also live. Heaps of clothing pour from an open closet door and a carpeted bedroom, where a bed sheet serves as a curtain, is cluttered with cribs."

That is a quote from The Associated Press, yes, I admit, I googled it for this blog.

This woman's mother is so upset with her for doing this because she doesn't have any help and expects her mother to help her.  There is only so much help a mother can give to her daughter who now has 14 children.  But what gives her the right to have 14 children with no job and no husband?  She sent her story to all these companies like Pampers and Gerber because she wanted free diapers and free baby food.  They apparently had no sympathy for her because they didn't respond to her.  I don't blame them because her story is a liability to them.  They can't afford to be associated with someone who is abusing her god given right to have children and also abusing the system.

If she has no job and no husband, how is she supposed to support all these children?  Welfare?  Exactly!  She is putting her dilemma on the state.  So every 1 of my readers (which is me) gets to pay to raise her children.

I was watching Chelsea Lately tonight on E! and she said why is it that this woman can have 18 children but gay people still can't get married?  The audience and 2 of her 3 panel members were clapping.  The 2 clapper were women, the other one was a guy who is obviously homophobic since he didn't clap.

You have to be secure with your own sexuality to be comfortable with gay people I guess.  I know lots of straight people who are rednecks who are the last people you would think would be gay friendly but they are.  So think about that.  How did this go from 14 children to gay people?  LMAO!

Mickey Rourke Retraction

I was just watching Mickey Rourke on Larry King and I didn't realize what a rough time he's had and I apologize for what I said about him in an earlier blog about you know, what the f happened to him and I may have allegedly said something about bad plastic surgery.  I don't recall.

The poor guy lost his marriage, wife, respectablility and he says he had to fall all the way down for him to get back up.  I have a lot of respect for him.  He is a great actor and has a great personality and I wish him only the best of luck.

Paranormal State

I was laying in bed watching tv and I had the History channel on most of the day watching these shows about the universe, about space and technology etc.  But that marathon ended and I didn't want to watch what was on afterwards so I looked at the guide and found Paranormal State on A&E so I changed it to that.

I think there was maybe 2 hours that I saw, 4 episodes.  It was ok, a bit too much for me though.  I much prefer watching Ghost Hunters and GHI.  At one point in the basement of a church this guy was in the bathroom and all of a sudden the guy fell he was pushed I guess, I don't know but you could see the camera falling with him.  He was so freaked out that he couldn't even speak when they asked him if he's ok.

I've been there I guess, you are just in shock, you can't move, you can't even speak, your brain is working overtime trying to figure out what the heck just happened to me that you can't form the words.  You just need a minute or 2.  I probably would've been all HELLO!  HELLO!  CAN YOU HEAR ME?  LOL I'm a jerk.  But if that happened to me and I couldn't speak I'd actually like someone to snap me out of it so I can tell them what happened.

I guess it's a good show, I just prefer watching Ghost Hunters.

Digital Mail

No I don't mean e-mail.  I mean scanning all of my paper mail into pdf files.  See, the thing is, I'm afraid that if I don't keep my mail as documented proof of whatever then I need it then I'll be screwed.  So I've been keeping all my bills and invoices since 1996.  Starting with Bank of America Statements.

I have tons of stuff like credit reports, medical records and invoices and whatever, publisher's clearing house invoices, cable bills etc.  All this stuff is just piling up and overwhelming so I've decided that it would be so much easier if I could just scan it all and make folders like Bank of America and Social Security and Bright House etc.  Then just make the files like bank of america jan 2000 etc.

I've been seeing commercials for Kinko's that they will scan all your paper documents and put them on a cd for you so you can throw out all that stuff.  I think I can do it on my own thank you.  I think it's a very good idea too, I can keep these files on a hard drive website for safe keeping just in case there is a fire and my computer dies along with all my cd's.  Although then I risk hackers getting all my information lol.  You are never safe I swear lol.

I don't know, I'm thinking about getting a flash drive that I can just put it all on and keep it in a safe place.  I would like to get a fire proof safe to put all of my pictures in along with flash drives of the pictures.  Or maybe a small fire proof safe for storing flash drives.  That would be cool yes?  Or if there is a fire all I have to do is grab all the flash drives and get the heck out of the house.  Hopefully they would all be water proof.

Fake Men

A couple years ago we were watching Jerry Springer and a "man" came on the show wanting to tell his girlfriend that he was born a woman.  The circumstance was that "he" (she) was in a bar and met a woman and she was attracted to "him" (her) and they began a relationship.  They were having oral sex, he would do that on her that is and she never knew.

Ok, that was strange and stuff but this same person came on the show a 2nd time to tell another woman that he was born a girl.  The 2nd time the same thing happened as the first time, the woman had a bad reaction, beat up the "guy" (girl) and they left.

Well, since that show (or those shows) it has been happening more often.  Just the other day there was one.  There was a commercial for the next Jerry Springer and the same thing but with another person.  What the hell is going on in this world?  Can you imagine what people in other countries think about us?  Because this show is syndicated all around the world.

It's not limited to women pretending to be men, although we all know that men pretend to be women, it's actually a lot more common and I see it on Jerry Springer show all the time.  It's sorta disgusting and pitiful.  I mean, these ugly ass women expect that men are going to want to be with them and not know they are really men?  Hello!  If you have any doubt try to get to 2nd base lol.

MySpace Sex Fiends

Why is it that these people are always sending you emails through MySpace with their sexy profile pic of a woman with nothing on but a bra, panties, hose with hose suspenders and they are always in a provocative pose.

I usually get emails that say something like "hey sexy, do you remember me?  we had a nice conversation the other day" or something to that effect.

In my opinion, if a man gets this then his wife checks his MySpace email, or even his regular email because MySpace sends me an email whenever I get a MySpace email.  But can you imagine how the wives must react?  Not good, not good indeed.  Or what if you are a teenage boy and your parents are checking up on you while you are at school and they are logged into your MySpace and see those emails?  They will tan that boys ass as soon as he comes home and he doesn't even know why.

The problem is, there is nothing you can do about it besides canceling your MySpace account.

I got a email just a few minutes ago with this picture (next paragraph and to the left) and the subject was hello but there was nothing in the email.  I then sent her an email that says this:

myspaceslutExcuse me, when you sex fiends send me these emails, do you even bother to check the sexual orientation of the people you send them to or do you just send them to everyone including women? It clearly says on my profile that I'm gay. If you are trying to thrill someone you are barking up the wrong tree.

And with that, I'm reporting you for spam abuse now. Have a lovely day.

Dentist Today

I went to the Dentist on Saturday last week because the pain in my tooth was so unbearable and they wouldn't see me without a medical release.  So I had to wait until Monday, got it, they saw me, did a partial root canal (they didn't have to do a full one because he got the decay and it wasn't near the soft tissue so no need to finish) and filled the tooth and I made an appointment for Tuesday.

Yesterday I go in and he fills in my broken tooth on the bottom but same side of the mouth as Monday.  No problem, made an appointment for today.

Today comes, I go in and I wait for 30 min in the waiting room and Nurse Ratchet calls Mr. McDonald.  Normally they just say my first name.  So I go in, she doesn't let me sit down yet, she asks why I'm here, I tell her root canal and I point at my top left tooth.  She says there is no authorization for a root canal.  She looks at my papers and says we don't even have your doctors authorization.  I said look some more.  She looks and finds it.

She pushes the button on the chair to lower it so I can sit down and she says Mr. McDonald you were here at 10am, can I ask why you were here so early?  And I said uh, that's my appointment time.  She says well the doctor isn't even scheduled to be here until 11am.  What the hell does she expect me to do?  I don't know their dentists schedules.  They didn't email me with his full schedule lol.

Then the white devil, yes, that's what she is, the white devil, starts setting everything up being her bitchy cheerful self.  She tells me well he won't be here for another half hour what would you like to do?  What the hell is she asking me?  They normally sit you in the chair and keep you waiting for an hour anyway so uh hello?  Just leave me here and go run over some puppies, I don't give a crap.  Do what you normally do.  She continues setting me up and she goes to put the paper on my chest, the bib if you will.  But instead of clipping that chain with roach clips (yes, I said roach clips) she tucks it into my shirt at which point 1 eyebrow raises and I look from side to side and she starts giggling from my facial expression.  She informs me they don't have any clips.

So 11 comes and the dentist comes in and he's arguing with her about what I'm here for today and he comes to me and tells me he is out of gloves and that I can either wait until 3pm or come back this evening because he doesn't know when they are coming in.  Excuse me?  3pm?  I'm not going to sit there with Ms. Sunshine for 4 more hours.  No, I'll reschedule.

So I go back on Friday.

Inappropriate Commercials

Some of these commercials are so inappropriate today.  I'm serious.  I mean, why do I have to hear about douching and penis enlargement and condoms and lube on my TV?

Just last night I saw a commercial for a vibrator.  Uh, excuse me?  Why are these commercials being played on regular TV?  Why can't they be played on TVs at the sex shoppes?  They also show commercials for cock pumps.  Hello?  WTF!  I don't want to see cock pumps and vibrators and penis enlargement pills commercials.

Why are we being bombarded with all this stuff?  When I was a kid in the 70's - 80's it was enough to have to endure maxi pad, tampon commercials.  I didn't even know what Summers Eve was all about because the women were always running through a field in slow motion.  I finally figured it out when I was a teenager what that was all about and I was like eww.

The worst moment to see these commercials is when you are sitting in a room with a family member like an aunt or your mom or your grandmother.  Or worse, you are a guy and you are seeing a commercial about lube or cock pumps and your kid is sitting there watching too.  Not only are you embarrassed but I'm sure they want to just crawl under a rock and die.

Michael Phelps Pot Scandal

I didn't watch the Olympics.  There, I said it.  But I did admire Michael Phelps for his wins in last years Olympics in China.  Good for you, you go boy.

He recently went to a party and was smoking from a pot pipe and someone decided to snap a picture of him with their cell phone while smoking pot.

First of all, I'm not advocating pot or drug use but who cares?  Who hasn't smoked pot from a bong or a pot pipe at a party?  Come on!  Who freakin' cares!  He's an adult.  I've smoked pot when I was 15 all the way through the age of 23.  I occasionally smoke a joint "if" it's being passed around.  I'm not an addict and I'm pretty sure that Michael Phelps is not a pot head either.

He apologized and his endorsements have accepted his apology and they basically said they don't really care.  Although the South Carolina authorities where he was spotted smoking pot are considering a criminal charge against the Olympic Superstar.

Give the man a break, he won all this gold for our country fair and square and not under the influence of any illegal substance.  So he smoked pot, don't put him in jail.

The View at the dentist

I was at Western Dental this morning and I signed in and sat down and thought to myself, "CRAP!" because I looked at the tv and it was the view.  Normally they have the cartoon network on.  Believe me, I would much rather sit there watching Spongebob Squarepants than sit there watching 5 women yelling at their guest or each other.

Today it was this guy who filmed a documentary about the way Gov. Palin was treated by the media since John McCain made her his Vice President running mate.  They beat her up in many different ways such as with her pregnant teenage daughter, the turkey being slaughtered behind her lol, her accent, the fact that she shoots Rocky and Bullwinkle, how dumb she was etc.

These View bitches were just going off on this guy because they can.  I can't quote what they were saying but they didn't like any answer he had and that comedian gal, I forgot her name but she has a raspy voice, oh Joy, she kept yelling "can I finish can I finish" lol.

Can someone please shoot me now?  I was like please call my name please call my name.  I'd rather have a root canal right now.  They finally called me but luckily I didn't get a root canal.  I was supposed to but didn't.

I have to go back tomorrow at 10am, let's hope the view isn't on when I'm there again otherwise I will have to beg to be knocked out while I wait.

New Craft Idea

I've been thinking of a new craft idea during the last few days (or week) but I don't really know for sure.  Wood Burning.  You can print a picture or pattern then trace it onto the wood using a special paper that is like carbon paper but for wood burning.  I guess if you use regular carbon paper it would probably not transfer as good as it transfers onto paper and would make it harder to see the pattern to burn it with the burning tool.

I do want to buy the wood burning tool though because it has other functions like it can be used to solder which I need.  And also you can attach an exacto blade to it and it heats the blade up so you can cut things like the stuff you stick fake flowers into which I have used in the past to make the "Pretty Birdhouses" clock and key minder.  I had to use a butter knife to cut it but when I did that it got all this white crap all over the place.

I googled wood burning patterns today and found a site (which I failed to bookmark) that has all these pictures of things that people have made (as well as hundreds of free patterns to print) and these things were so neat.  This one person wood burning a picture of horses on the seat of a chair and the back of the chair had this certain pattern.  It was really cool and shows that it's not specifically for pieces of wood, it can be done on furniture too like coffee tables and chairs and TV trays which someone also took a picture of a horse on a TV tray.  Of course you can do other things, not just horses hehe.

You can also do peoples faces, sort of like portraits of family members from pictures.  Since I'm not even a beginner yet I can't even start thinking about portraits lol.  I haven't even bought the tools yet or any pieces of wood.  If I do start I'm going to start off with something easy from the beginners guide.  Maybe make a address plate or something lol.  Or maybe a coat rack as a gift for someone.  We will see.  Right now I don't have any money to even think about this craft but I think that I can do it soon, like in a month or 2.
