McGoiter's Channel

I found this guy on YouTube named Brock Baker.  His channel on YouTube is called McGoiter.  I think he sent me a email via YouTube inviting me to his channel to subscribe and I did.  This guy is so funny, he shouldn't have any problem out there in Hollywood.  He's going to end up in a tv series some day soon.  But until then we get to enjoy him on YouTube.

He just moved to LA from somewhere in Colorado.  Maybe if you watch this video you will want to subscribe then next thing you know you are watching every video of his from the very first one to now like I did.  You won't be disappointed, he's very funny.  Here is his latest video called Brock Baker's LA Adventures #2.

Edit: Wait!  I remember.  He didn't email me, that was someone else.  I found Brocks video making fun of Fred after watching a Fred video lol.  That's right.

Surprise, it's Dinner

Chip surprised me tonight and took me to a sit down restaurant.  Normally to me a sit down restaurant is like Denny's or Hometown Buffet or China Town Buffet or well, anywhere that doesn't have a drive-thru.

So we went to Los Molcajetes Restaurant over on Brundage Lane in Bakersfield, CA.  I'd never been there before but we've passed it maybe a thousand times since we've been in Bakersfield.

First of all, I'm a very picky eater.  That means Mexican food is usually one of those foods that I gotta be careful with because if I don't ask exactly what I'm getting I'm gonna get everything I don't want.  I absolutely detest the taste of onions, bell peppers, any kind of hot sauce, sour cream and avocado (or guacamole).  I ordered a ground beef burrito and specifically mentioned no onions, bell peppers, avocado or sour cream since those 4 ingredients were in the pictures near the burritos.  I just wanted to make sure I didn't get those.

Chip ordered shredded beef enchiladas.  I don't know how his food was but as soon as I put the first bite into my mouth the first thing that I said was "wow, it's too salty".  I'm not very big on salt either lol.  It's a good thing too because if I had put salt on my food I would've been pissed because of the salt overload.

Chip ordered an iced tea for his drink and he was complaining that it was too weak, he even had me taste it (pre-sweetened).  I didn't really notice.  I would've probably noticed more if it had been sweetened first.  I'm not a huge fan of iced tea without sugar or equal in it.  After his 2nd glass was brought to him and he sweetened it, the waiter came back and he told him how weak it was and the waiter said "oh well we have stronger" which was a lie, he brought back another glass of iced tea that looked darker but Chip said it was the same.  He also brought a glass filled with ice lol.  Who asked for that?

Besides the salt overload and the weak tea it was a pretty decent meal.  I can't say I will be begging to go back anytime soon though.  But I guess when someone takes you to dinner you can't complain especially when I am broke lol.

Oh one more thing, I was so full and when we went to the cashier at the end I was being stupid and asked where the vomitorium was (because I was full, not because it wasn't good) and the cashier gave me a blank stare.  She said what's that?  I said "what's a vomitorium?"  She said yeah.  I was like damn are you gonna make me explain my stupid jokes?  Gawd, I really hate it when people don't get my humor.  I told her it was from the roman days and she asked what it was for and I said well, er um... vomiting.  She then pointed to the bathroom and said it's there lol.  I then had to say "I was joking" and she said oh lol.  Oy vey!

Update for today

I slept right all night long then this morning I had to take off the bipap mask which was like 5:30am and it just seemed like I could not get comfortable at all and no matter how I slept my shoulder was in pain.  It seems almost as if it is getting worse for some reason.  I'm not on the steroids anymore and so the pain is back.  I put some bengay on it because that is supposed to help but now I smell like bengay lol.

I just wish I could get my monthly check so I can buy some comfort food you know?  I mainly want some ice cream lol.  Of course the little 1 serving size, I don't want to totally undo all the hard work I did on the bike when I was able to ride it.  And on the other hand I'm in so much pain I feel like saying screw all my past progress, give me cake, donuts, ice cream, milkshakes, big macs lol.

I was given a donation of $5 so now I can at least go to the store and buy some lunch meat and a loaf of bread for lunch and dinner.  Good because I am so freakin' hungry heh.  Monday can't come any slower can it?

Can't wait to exercise

On Monday August 3rd it will be 2 weeks that I haven't been on the bicycle and I will still have to wait to ride it until my shoulder is totally 100% healed.  I've been trying my best to make good food choices but when I can't exercise at all because of the excruciating pain in my back and shoulder it takes all of my motivation away.

I've been finished with the steroid meds since yesterday morning and so some of the pain caused from the side effects from that medicine are gone but the pain that I was taking them for is still there.  I still have 3 more weeks worth of the muscle relaxer medicine to go.  I sure hope I won't be out of commission for 3 more weeks, that would suck.  It's basically voiding the last couple of months of hard work.  I've already started gaining some weight back.

When I get my check I'm buying a new handlebar which is about $10-$15 (hopefully) and the grips for about $5 I guess then I can start riding again.  Of course it is possible that my brake cables aren't going to be long enough so I'll have to buy new cables lol.  If it ain't one thing it's another.  And I'm going to buy a new gel seat cover for this new ergo seat so that should top me off lol.

I've been out of money for the last couple of weeks now so I haven't had some of the foods that I love so when I get my check on Monday I'm gonna go nuts because then I can finally buy some coffee grounds and some creamer.  Oh I miss coffee.  I hate being broke so much lol.  Luckily I still have some slim fast though so that I haven't been worrying about and Chip buys milk when we're out so that's not a problem either.

Monday Monday Monday hurry up and come faster!  The last 2 weeks are going toooooo slow.

Books Being Deleted by Amazon?

I am a huge fan of technology and when I first heard that Amazon came out with a e-book reader I was so thrilled at the thought of it.  But of course I can't afford one with the price they charge for it.  However, after reading this article on the SyFy tech website Dvice.com about Amazon deleting books from Kindle owners it got me a bit concerned.

SHIFT: Is Big Brother Living In Your Kindle?

Can you imagine buying an e-book then go to read it and it's gone?  In all fairness to Amazon they refunded the money back to all those that they deleted it from.  And the books were illegal too.  But if you buy a book from the amazon website how do you know if you are buying a legal copy of it?  I mean, you are trusting that Amazon is going to sell you legal copies of e-books right?

Well, Amazon has apologized about the whole thing and they promised to put that delete button away in the basement.  They are such a good company that I will probably still trust them to keep their word.  They just need to stop selling illegal books lol.

This has not deterred me from still wishing I had a Kindle, I mean, I have one in my Amazon Wish List (link to the right), the new one for $299.  I'm going to continue to wish that I had it too until I get the money to buy it.  But then again I think I'm still holding out for color touchscreen with a 8.5"x11" paper sized display for $99 to $199.  I'm going to be waiting awhile lol.

Dunkin' Cruelty?

I just read an update on Facebook by someone who is a comedian Carol Leifer and she is asking people to support this.  It's called Dunkin' Cruelty.  It's a website that someone has created, most likely someone from PETA, to urge people to beg Dunkin' Donuts to stop using eggs and dairy in their donuts.

You know, I am all for helping animals from animal cruelty and all but how exactly is this going to impact the egg and dairy industry?  First of all they are urging them to stop using eggs AND dairy yet they only talk about how cruel the chickens are treated, not about the cows.  And 2nd of all, what the hell do you think they serve at EVERY restaurant in the world?  Eggs and Dairy.  So why is it that out of all the restaurants in the whole world you are pickin' on Dunkin' Donuts?

How horrible are their donuts going to taste with no eggs in them?  I mean seriously.  Why not just boycott Dunkin' Donuts and get it over with instead of begging them to bland up their donuts?  How exactly do you make a donut without eggs?

I guess I don't see the point in this.  Human beings need eggs for protein and they need dairy to build strong bones.  Eggs are not fertile, they aren't going to be a future chicken since they are not fertilized by a male and the milk is produced by cows daily anyway so why can't all the carnivores enjoy their eggs and milk and leave us alone?

Trinvo Talking Translator

I just found this neat gadget on the Dvice.com website.  It is the Trinvo Talking Translator Knows a Dozen Languages post.

When we were thinking about going to Italy a few years ago I was trying my best to learn Italian.  We bought CD's from Costco and I sat here for hours at a time for weeks trying to learn and I just couldn't learn it very easily.  And the words that I did learn I don't seem to remember at all.

I was looking to buy something that would act as a translator for me and I found 1 way but it would cost hundreds of dollars.  I would've had to buy a PDA and buy voice recognition software with languages and of course I would've had to pay for each language that I needed and it wasn't cheap, about $50 per language.  We never did make it to Italy though.

But with the Trinvo Talking Translator it makes it so much easier.  Although it is still a bit expensive and since it's only for sale in the UK via the Gadgetshop website, you are looking to spend quite a bit of money.

The gadget itself is £34.99 and with shipping to the United States they tack on an additional £28.00 as their shipping charge for a grand total of £62.99 which translates to $103.86.  Without that bogus shipping charge the gadget still costs $57.70.  But who wants to pay the same amount for shipping that the gadget itself costs?

I suppose if you were to buy it at the airport you would end up paying over $100 anyway.

Microsoft & Yahoo Vs. Google

I saw on Fox News this morning that Microsoft and Yahoo are going to merge and Yahoo will start using Microsoft's Bing search engine.  I don't know why.  Anyway, they said that Google has been kicking Yahoo's ass in the search engine department so MS and Yahoo are going to combine to kick Google's ass.

Shep on Fox said that Bing seems to be a way better search engine but I don't know about that.  I just did a bing search for my name "Xanapus" and it didn't seem that special to me.  It has a pop up on the right side of each item that shows you whats in there but who really cares about that?  It's not a little mini image of the page, it's text.  I don't see how it's better than Google personally.

Also, a few nights ago we went to visit friends of ours (see Beth's drawing, that's the night we visited) and when I went to look up the directions I opened Windows Live Mail (which I find easier than Outlook Express) and opened up the address book to copy the address to paste in Google maps but the address was a link so I clicked it and up came Bing Map.  After awhile trying to figure out just how I was supposed to get directions to that address I finally printed the directions with a map.  Well, those directions got us lost because they put us somewhere else.  They told us to turn left when we were supposed to go to another street 2 streets up on the right.  We ended up having to call to find out which street to go to and found out right and not left.

Google in my opinion is way better for search engines and for maps.  I'm probably not going to change.  There are some aspects of Google I don't care for like Google Chrome browser because it doesn't give me my Yahoo toolbar.  I'm kinda sorta looking forward to Google Chrome OS only because of the claim that it starts up faster than Windows but we will see if I can still use my Windows software since it will be Linux based.  One service of Google's that I do love is their free 1-800-GOOG-411.

Good luck Microsoft and Yahoo.

Bikini Christmas in July - Minisode Network

Hey, awhile ago I commented on a Gidget video on the Minisode Network channel over on YouTube.  It was the episode called Gidget's Foreign Policy starring Walter Koenig (Chekov from Star Trek) and I made a comment saying Chekov spanking a girl awesomeness or something like that.  Well, in this video they show my name but they put stars on my comment lol.  Anyway, I thought it was cool that they have my name Xanapus in this video at 3:40.

The Definition of Screen Saver and Online

Have we all forgotten what words mean again?  Ok, for all of those morons out there let me give you a lesson.

Screen saver is not what your wallpaper is.  You know, the image that you see with all of your icons.  That's your wallpaper.  Say it with me.  Wall Pa Per.  Wallpaper.  That is not a screen saver.  In the olden days if you kept the same thing on the screen for too long, the image or numbers/letters would burn into the screen so every time you looked at it you would see whatever it is that got burned in there forever.  That is why they invented screen savers which is more of a moving presentation to protect your monitor.  But those days are over.  You can still use a screen saver mainly to protect your screen from prying eyes when you aren't there.

The definition of being "online" seems to have gotten cloudy too.  When you are standing at the bank you are not standing online at the bank.  If you are standing behind someone and there is someone standing behind you then you are "in line" not online.  Online means being connected to the Internet.  Now if you were standing in line at the bank and you were checking your email on your cell phone then sure, you are online while standing in line at the bank.

Did that help?  Are you more familiar with the English language now?

LOL thanks for putting up with my rants.

Woman decapitates and eats parts of her son

Holy cow dude!  There is this woman in San Antonio Texas who killed and ate parts of her baby.  Here is the article from the Times.

A Texas woman decapitated her newborn baby and ate pieces of his body before turning a knife on herself, police said Monday.

The woman was covered in blood and screaming: "I killed my baby, I want to die" when police arrived at the modest San Antonio home.

"She mentioned that someone or something told her to do it and she was hearing voices, so that leads us to believe she was experiencing some kind of mental crisis," said police spokesman Joe Rios.

The woman had separated from the baby’s father about a week earlier and was living with her mother and sister, who were helping to care for the baby born on June 30.

The woman was discovered around 4:30 am Sunday by her mother, who found her holding the decapitated baby.

She appeared to have ingested parts of her child after attacking him with a knife, Rios said.

"She was biting on the head," Rios told AFP.

Otty Sanchez, 33, was charged with capital murder and remained in hospital Monday.

I saw on a video by AustinVanDusen on YouTube that this lady said that the devil told her to do it.  Yeah.... ok whatever lady.  What if "god" told her that her baby would be a future Hitler or maybe the "devil" told her that her baby would be a future saint then I can see that as her reason but as far as I know it was just that the devil told her to do it.  Ok sure.  Whatever.  First of all I don't believe in the devil so I can't believe that something I don't believe in would be going around telling people to kill and ingest their baby.

This woman is a real ghoul, she's a zombie.  Why is it that these people are allowed to procreate yet I'm told by the state of California that I can't even get married.  I get so sick of being human sometimes.

Suffering Side Effects

Well I've already started to suffer some of the side effects from these medications that the neurologist gave me for my shoulder.

I'm taking Methylprednisolone 4MG Dospack 21's which is this pack that has all the pills that you pop out the back.  The first day is at the top and you have to take 6 pills in 1 day.  2 before breakfast, 1 after lunch and supper (I guess that drug company has never heard of dinner) and 2 at bedtime.  Then day 2 you take 5 pills at various times throughout the day.  Day 3 4 pills and so on until day 6 you are just taking 1 pill.  This one is the steroid drug.

Then the other one is Baclofen 10MG tablets that I have to take 3 times a day so like every 8 hours.  That is a muscle relaxant drug.

I read the possible side effects for both of them and some of them are similar.  The muscle relaxant doesn't have nearly as many side effects as the steroid but I'm getting quite a bit.

1 of them isn't even listed and I'm not going to air that dirty laundry in here but believe me, it's painful to sit down hint hint wink wink.  The other ones are that my teeth don't feel like they belong in my mouth lol.  They just feel strange like the dentist shot something in there to numb them.  Also I've got major joint aches and pains especially in my legs at the hips and well just everywhere in my legs.

Let's see, I can't sit, I can't stand and my teeth don't feel like they belong in my mouth lol.  What else can go wrong?  Oh shoot, I just jinxed myself by saying that.  One of the other side effects are that I'm hungry more which happened today, I got extra hungry, I had 2 sandwiches for lunch, not just bread but these really big rolls with 3 slices of turkey each and lettuce and mayo.  Oh and we went to Hometown Buffet and I stuffed myself silly and one of the other side effects is weight gain which I guarantee you tomorrow I will see that side effect come into place thanks to the hometown buffet but we're just gonna say it's a side effect from the pills ok?

UGH and my shoulders are experiencing joint pain too.  Ok, I think I need to lay down because I'm becoming too fragile to be sitting here typing.  One of my fingers might fall off and we don't want that.

Wifi scale tells the world how fat you are

WiFi scale notifies the internet of your lapsed diet - source Dvice.com

wifiscaleJust imagine that you have this in your bathroom.  You stand on the scale and all of a sudden the whole world knows just how fat you really are lol.

Through wifi this scale will post your weight and body fat percentage to the internet or if you have an iPhone it will transmit it through wifi to a iPhone app.

Why in the world would anyone want to do that?  I mean sure if you are skinny like 150lbs or lighter and you are constantly working out and keeping yourself nice and thin then I could understand wanting to brag about how skinny you are but not me.  If this could transmit the info to SparkPeople then fine but it wouldn't do me that much good to do that because when I do my weekly weigh in's at the SparkPeople website I also have to measure my waist, hips and neck too.  As far as I know this isn't that capable.

So, no thanks lol.  I think I'll pass.

Beths Drawing

beth drawingWe were visiting our old neighbors last night who moved away last year and their daughter Beth handed me this little piece of paper.  I opened it up and looked at it and asked her what it was.  She pointed at the little stick figure and said that's me, that's you (middle stick figure) and that's your brother Chip hehe.

Beth has known us since she was 1½ but she isn't really familiar with a gay relationship.  She is just assuming that we are brothers, she could assume that Chip is my father because he is much older than I am.  I don't know why she thought he was my brother.  I guess she doesn't really see age that good at her age.  I think she's maybe 4.

But anyway we all got a good laugh at that and I thought I'd scan it and share it.

Hart Park w/Jeannie Video

It was April 13th 2007 and our tenant Jeannie was just moving out after only living in our rental for 3 months.  She was a traveling nurse and that's what they do, they move to a state and city for 3 months then go back home for 1 or 2 months then they go to another state and city.  They get paid a crap load to do that.

Anyway, before she left we wanted to bring her to Hart Park here in Bakersfield, CA with her dog Chloe.  We fed the ducks for awhile then we went walking around for a bit and as we were leaving in the car we saw Peacocks so I got out and took a short video of them walking around.

Enjoy

Planning ahead for my BikeCam Trilogy

LOL my bike cam trilogy.  As you know I have 2 bike cam videos where I go out on the bike path in Bakersfield.  In case you don't here is BikeCam 1 and BikeCam 2.

Even though I'm incapacitated right now I'm already planning ahead for BikeCam 3 which will be the last part in the series lol my Trilogy.

What I'm going to do is when I get my next check I'm going to buy new handlebars, the kind that are like beech cruiser handlebars that will allow me to sit up properly on the bike.  I might not ride as fast but I really don't care about how fast I go, I just care about getting exercise and losing weight.

So when I get the handlebars I'm also going to get a trunk for the rack to store my camera and a 1.5 liter canteen so when I get to my destination I can just grab the camera and hook it on to my homemade handlebar tripod.  Since the handlebar will be different the tripod will be in a different spot, most likely on the right side of the handlebar and not in the middle.  I'll take new pictures lol.

Anyway, I plan on adding 5 miles from the point that I stopped my video at the end of part 2.  That will take me all the way to Hart Park.  Hart Park is a very neat park to go to.  There are peacocks, ducks, swans, lots of streets that I could actually just ride around for a long time at no particular speed.  Cars I think have to go 5mph so I guess a bike should go the same and not my typical 14mph lol.  I plan on going all the way to where the ducks are and feeding them.  I have a video of us feeding the ducks but I guess it's not on YouTube for some reason.  Maybe I'll get that on there before I do my 3rd BikeCam video.  I'll work on that today.

Well, don't expect this video to happen any time soon (the bikecam 3 video that is) because I still have to wait for my next check which is about 8 days away and then I also have to wait for my shoulder to heal up so I gotta take it easy.  But hopefully the day after I buy the new handlebar then I will be able to make this happen.  But then again I might also not be able to go far because by then it will have been 2 weeks since I rode the bike which means my muscles have turned to jelly and I might not have the strength to ride all that way.  I might not even be able to do my 22 miles.  Hopefully I will but who knows.

My first BikeCam video was June 15th or 16th and my 2nd was July 16th so look for it on August 16th lol.

Home Laser Hair Removal

laserhair

Are you tired of shaving and don't want to have to pay the high price of getting laser hair removal?  Then why not pay $549 for a product that you can use in the privacy of your own home.  Holy shit dude!  $549?

The Silk'n Store International™ sells this product through their website as I said for $549.  This thing uses a lamp that only lasts for 750 flashes then you have to replace the bulb.  It comes with 2 lamps or you can pay the same price for 4 lamps (it's on sale).  They sell extra lamps for $55 per lamp.  You can buy 1 lamp or you can buy 3 or more and just pay $55 for each.

They say it takes about 3 months to notice that the hair is permanently gone which is a bit of time to see results I guess but as long as you keep using it then you should be ok.

It says you can use this on your underarms, legs, bikini line etc.  What exactly is the etc part?  Can you use this on your face?  I for one would love to never have to shave my face again.  Men can use this on their chest (as the picture on the MySpace ad shows) but I wonder where else men can use this.  Could you use this on your balls?  No seriously, I'm not trying to be gross.  I wonder if it's safe for your balls and maybe even your crack too.  I for one can't stand the gross unnecessary hair on my ass lol.  Why do I need hair there?  When I go to the bathroom... ok this is starting to become too much information.

Anyway, I think that if you have $550 to spend on this product with 4 lamps go for it.  After 3 months are up and you have no more hair to laser off then you can sell it on ebay to get your money back or at least half of your money back.  When you sell it on ebay you are gonna have to buy some lamps to sell along with it because you can't just sell it with no lamps.  That wouldn't be right.

Bicycle of the Future

2_bike_pres

Check out this new bicycle concept by Marten Wallgren who won the award for best concept in the competition called "Future City Mobility".

This is a concept for the future so basically in 20 years you might see this in London Gardens which they say is a bus and bicycle only zone.

They don't really give out much information as to how to obtain one of these bicycles other than showing pictures.  You go to the bus stop where you see all of these bicycles in a tree which stores the bikes.  I can only assume that these are all rentals because they each have a number on them like a license plate number.

When you are riding it you are building up the battery power with your peddling power.  If you are peddling while sitting straight up as if you are on a beach cruiser you are building 1x the battery.  If you are more leaning forward in a faster racing type of mode you are building 3x the battery.  If you are sitting up and letting the motor do all the work you are using the battery instead.

How this helps you out though is by you building up the battery to 100% when you get in a taxi or bus with a holder for this bike you get a free ride if you let the vehicle drain your battery.  I'm not so sure about a free taxi ride but definitely a free bus ride.

This is a neat concept but 2030 is a long way away and it's possible that this is going to be a London only idea or perhaps it will be copied over to the US and everywhere else in the world before too long.

It will be especially neat if we get our flying cars by 2030 then there won't be any cars to compete with on the roads because they will all be up in the air.

Weider Total Body Works 5000

I bought this home gym from the Walmart website a couple years ago called the Weider Total Body Works 5000 and at the time it was $99.  I forgot how much the shipping was though.  But I just went to do a search on that particular brand that I have to see if there was any new information such as blogs or instructional videos or whatever to give me more of an insight into this gym which houses more dust and spiderwebs that it should and I find that they dramatically raised the price to $174.  It looks like I bought it just in the nick of time.

My friend Sue calls it my Weider Total Towel Rack 5000 lol.  My aunt Betty has a treadmill in her living room and when I was there the last time it was folded it and it actually did have towels hanging on it lol.  I had to joke with her about that.

We Got Carded for Wood Putty?

Ok, I've been carded in my life for cigarettes when I was younger.  I've been carded for booze when I went into the bars when I was younger or when buying beer from the store.  No problem.  But I've never been carded for buying wood putty.

We went to Home Depot for prices on linoleum floors for the kitchen in the rental and while we were there Chip needed some wood putty and we went to the self checkout lanes.  I scanned the wood putty and the screen said that we needed assistance from the employee who had to check Chips ID.

I've talked about Chip here in my blog on several occasion.  He is 59 years old and he has gray hair.  He is hardly a person that you would card for something let alone wood putty.

I can understand carding for spray paint because I'm sure teenagers are always buying spray paint but wood putty?  Sheesh.  What could you possibly do with wood putty that would be destructive to someone else's property?

Whatever.

Solution To My Problem

I've been thinking that maybe the solution to my bike seat problem might be easier.  When I was 17 I had a beach cruiser bicycle.  The seat was fat in the back and the horn was very small.  It's handlebars were long enough that I could sit up while riding so I never had any back issues.

My bike is a mountain bike.  I only bought a "mountain bike" because of the price.  I bought it at Wal•mart for $60.  I really wanted a beach cruiser but they were too expensive at the time and same with the 10 speed road bikes.  The mountain bike was my only cheap alternative.

I've already changed out most of the bike and it's mainly just the frame that is the same so why not just take the handlebar off and put a new one on lol.  When I get my next check I plan on buying one of these:

beachcruiserbar

It's long enough that I won't have to bend even a little bit to reach and I can sit up fully while riding.  As long as my seat is in the right position I won't feel like I'm falling forward as long as I have some longer handlebars.

This handlebar is $10 plus $5 shipping from NYCBikes.com which is not bad at all.  However, I'm not sure if I want to wait for it to ship to me.  I mean, we have a bike store in town (they don't have a website :() so I'm going to check with them first.  Hopefully they will have a black one so I don't have to spray paint it lol.

I will probably have to wait another week or so before I can ride my bike again so by the time I get this I will be healed up again hopefully and I can resume my 4:30am bike rides.  I can also add more crap to my seat lol.

Oh the only issue I can see with this is that the brakes won't be long enough to reach to the end of the handlebars but that's ok, I'm sure that when I need them I will be able to reach for them.  Or maybe they will be long enough to get close to the end of the handlebars.

But you know what?  Maybe I'm going at this all wrong.  Beach Cruiser bikes are probably not that expensive at Walmart.  The last time we were there they were $60 so maybe I should just get a new bike.  Beach Cruiser bikes don't have hand brakes.  All you do is peddle backwards and you stop lol.  They don't even have gears which might make it a bit easier.  I'll think about it.

Shrinking Jug Keeps Milk Fresh For Another Week

Check this out from Dvice.com

Shrinking Jug Keeps Milk Fresh For Another Week

That is so cool!  I want one.  All you do is pour your new gallon of milk into it and then close it.  When you want some milk you just push the button and the milk pours into your glass or cereal bowl and the container shrinks in the process.  Since we always buy 2 gallons of milk I think it would be appropriate to buy 2 of these.  Although if one of these containers cost $20 - $100 then perhaps 1 will do lol.

It works by keeping the air out so when you open the milk it starts going bad because the air does something to it... just read the article, it makes more sense when they say what it does.

Obama's Beef with Cambridge Police

By now everyone who has a television or reads a newspaper or even surfs the internet (and if none of those you at least have a friend who told you) you know about this whole thing with Obama saying the word "stupidly" about the Cambridge police about their arrest of the Harvard professor in his home.

Well little did you know, Obama has a reason to be so spiteful.  Check this out:

'Scofflaw' Obama Grudge Against Cambridge Police?

Now, I would think that you, as a president, who wanted to hide this before running for president would want to keep quiet about all of your deadbeat years.  But nooooo you just had to say something that made people dig up your past showing us your true colors.

I don't talk about certain things in my blog that would offend anyone such as religion and politics but I just had to add this article.

Back Meds

I went to the neurologist today for my regular appointment for my carpel tunnel syndrome and I mentioned the problems with my back and they gave me a steroid and a muscle relaxer.

I have to take one of them every 8 hours and the other one I have to take 6 pills today, 5 tomorrow 4 day after, 3 day after that, 2 day after that and then 1 on the last day.

I really hope this pain is gone at the end of this because I really want to resume my exercise.  I'm going to add strength exercises as well because I think that my back muscles just were not prepared for this new seat.

Back Pain

Well apparently this back pain is a bit more severe than I thought.  I just called the chiropractors office that I used to go to in 2005 and had to leave a message so I hope they get it by tonight so I can make an appointment to hopefully come in tomorrow morning.  I have a doctors appointment with the neurologist for my carpel tunnel syndrome near where they used to be but they aren't too far from there so I will be able to walk there from my neurologist.

I was thinking of bringing my bike with me but I don't have the proper locks and I'm afraid that my new seat and/or my wheels will get stolen.  I don't have the money to buy 2 new locks/chains so I'm screwed and have to walk there from the bus stop in pain lol.  Maybe I can think of something though, we have some padlocks that maybe I can borrow from what they are locking and look for some chain that I can use.  Now that I think about it I'm going to start looking for those so I can at least chain up my seat for now.  I really don't feel like walking all that way tomorrow especially with this back pain.

Cyclone Diet

cyclonediet2I don't remember when I bought this, maybe 2002 or 2003.  But it's supposed to help you lose 10lbs in 48 hours.  I'm not sure if it worked or not, I highly doubt it though.  I think that you are supposed to drink 3 packets a day for 2 days and nothing else for the rest of the time and you will lose 10lbs.

It's basically something that will clean out your system.  You know when you have to get prepared for a colonoscopy?  You have to drink this liquid for a certain amount of hours the night before your test and you are going to the bathroom every 5 minutes.  It's basically the same concept except I don't exactly remember going to the bathroom as much.  Then again it was so long ago.

The best thing I liked about this diet was that it comes with a cup that has a blender in it.  It's not a blender in the respect that it crushes ice but more like it just blends a powder into a liquid.  I use it for mixing my slim fast when I'm not using ice when I just want to mix the powder into the milk.  I suppose you could do the same thing with your iced tea lol.  Just add your ice and your tea then put your sugar or sweetener and press the button and it mixes the sugar.  No need for a tea spoon.

Since this product has been discontinued what else am I supposed to do with the cup?

Stackable Fridge

unifridgeGot roommates who just won't stop eating your labeled food?  Here is a solution.  This is a really good thing for roommates especially ones who are in college.

They don't have locks on them and that's probably a good idea to put on them but other than that it's a pretty good idea.  It also saves energy because it has 1 power source which is on the bottom.  When you open 1 little compartment you aren't letting out all the cool air.

I just wish that I was in college because I wouldn't mind having one lol.  This would actually be great for work, you could have your own cube fridge with your name on it at work so you can leave your lunch in there and maybe even some other food and not worry that someone is stealing your food while you aren't at work.

Real 3D Camera

fuji3d

Finally a company has come out with a camera that takes pictures in 3D.

FinePix REAL 3D W1 | Fujifilm Global

This camera has 2 lenses to make taking 3D pictures possible.  We have 2 eyes so obviously we see everything in 3D.  This also does video in 3D too and you don't need 3D glasses to see it in 3D.  I believe the only way to see your 3D pictures is by wirelessly transferring them to a 3D digital viewer.  I don't know if you can see it in 3D with just a regular picture viewer like they currently sell.  Also, when you print the picture it's probably going to be in 2D.  You can also take pictures in 2D and it will only use 1 of those lenses.

I'm just wondering when they are going to make a digital camera that takes widescreen pictures which takes them at 4x6 so when you have them printed onto 4x6 sheets you don't lose the top and bottom of your picture.

And I'm wondering when we're going to get Harry Potter moving pictures, that would be neat lol.

My Spirit Board Finished

Well I finally did it.  I made a spirit board.  No, not a "Ouija" board because that name is copyrighted.  This is my own personal creation.  Although I copied the idea, I burned it.

The font I used for the letters and numbers is Captain Howdy and the yes, no, hi and bye is obviously Comic Sans.  I didn't want to have big words like Hello and Goodbye and I'm sure Hi and Bye are perfectly acceptable.

I added the sun and the moon because I read you are supposed to ask the "spirits" if they are from the sun or the moon.  Sun meaning good, moon meaning not so good.

Look, I don't know if a spirit board works or not and I don't know if or when I will ever use it, I just wanted to make one lol.

I showed awhile ago my planchette that I made but it was too big for this board so I had to cut a smaller one out of it and I am not going to drill a hole in it, instead the "spirits" can use the point from the top of it to point to everything.  I could drill a hole the size of a nickel but it's not necessary.

For now I am finished burning but I'm not completely finished with it.  I still need to put some lacquer on it.  I'm waiting until I can buy a spray lacquer instead of wasting yet another brush that I can't clean.  Also I'm sure spraying is smoother than brushing.

I hope you like it.  Oh by the way, the wood is the "irregular" from Walnut Hollow's website so it was only $2.25 and it measures 13.5"W x 10.25"H.  Pretty good price for a spirit board right?

Hump day or Ghost day?

When I was in school Wednesday was hump day.  Well now as a grown up and as an avid Sci-Fi (now SyFy) channel watcher, Wednesday is Ghost day.

Today it's not just Ghost Hunters though, from 8am to 4pm SyFy channel is airing Scariest Places on Earth. Then 4pm is Lost, 5pm is Stargate Atlantis, 6pm is Stargate SG-1 then from 7-11 is Ghost Hunters.  Well, they are adding Ghost Hunters but it's mainly Ghost Hunters International.

I'm not too crazy about Scariest Places on Earth because I'm sure those are all rigged up because those people are just regular people who are spooked for no reason so they won't know if there is a real ghost or if it's string tied to a rocking chair and being pulled via remote control.  Plus they are always doing these rituals where they have to call the ghosts to wake them up.  Bullshit!  Also the guy at the beginning who tries to scare them by telling them just how haunted the house or mansion is.  Shenanigans!

I like Ghost Hunters because they don't scream (Donna) or run (Brian).  They mostly stick around if something happens because they want to find it.  They usually run toward the activity instead of running away from it because they want to debunk it.  They have actually found speakers in this one place so they knew it was shenanigans.  And they also found shenanigans on the queen mary when someone pulled the covers and paused the tape.

What am I doing sitting here blogging?  I'm MISSING it!

Edit: What are the odds that I would blog about something this morning at 7:53am and it happens later in the day?  I said in this post:

"They have actually found speakers in this one place so they knew it was shenanigans."

And that episode is on.  I'm watching the East coast SyFyHD channel so I'm seeing it 3 hours before it really should air in CA so it's the 8pm episode called "Widows Watch".  Jay and Grant just found the speaker in the ceiling of the ladies room, when you open the door there is a sensor that activates the speakers and there is also a mirror with a face behind it that illuminates when someone is near it so when you are looking at yourself you see another face over your own.

I had no idea that episode would be on when I posted that this morning lol.  I must have ESPN or something.

Bored

I get bored easily, real easily.  When I find an interest in something it's all I can think of, talk of, even dream of.  But as with everything I get bored with it after awhile.

The boredom graveyard:

Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, EverQuest, crafts, Snood, Just video games in general, the internet... my computer....  my bike?  Maybe soon.

I don't know, I still visit those websites I'm bored with hoping to find something that will spark an interest again, except for EverQuest because that's not free to explore.  They charge you $15 a month so it's not good to be bored with something that you have to pay to play.

I guess I'm just bored with everything, life included.  I'm bored with people who think they are funny.  Wait a minute... I think I'm funny.  Am I bored with myself?  Good lord, I'm bored with myself!  UGH!  I need to make myself laugh and if I can't do that then I have no hope for humanity.

Yummy Pigeons

I found this a couple years ago in the kitchen with a lot of other recipes and I just couldn't resist scanning it lol.  I'm not sure if Opal ever made this but just reading the recipe will make anyone cringe and laugh at the same time.  I don't know how old this is but I'm certainly glad I didn't live during the time that it was acceptable to eat pigeons on toast with gravy.

Back Problems

I don't know what's going on with me lately but it seems that since I got that new bicycle seat I've had nothing but back problems.  It could be that I still don't have it adjusted right, I don't know for sure.  I'm sitting back in my desk chair with the vibrate turned on the upper back selection and it does help some.  Sometimes I go sit in the shiatsu massage chair and that just hurts.  I have to sit funny for it to even get to my shoulders.

What happened is a few mornings ago I wasn't wearing my bipap machine mask because sometimes I can't breathe with it on so I have to go without for 1 night.  So when I sleep without it I sleep on my stomach and I sleep so weird that it puts a crick in my neck.  So I can't put all the blame on this new seat but it doesn't help my back either.

Yesterday I went on my morning bike ride despite the bad neck/shoulder pain but this morning I decided I was in too much pain to go out so I stayed home.

I'm really thinking about going to the chiropractor again because I get massages 3 days a week and they make me use their gym which helps with my weight loss lol.  The last time I went there I think I lost 10lbs in 1 month from using their gym doing the machine exercises as well as the ball exercises.  Maybe that will help me out some then I can learn what exercises I can do at home on my home gym so I will start using that again.

The only issue right now is that I'm broke.  I mean totally broke.  I have $1.75 available in the bank lol.  So I can't take the bus there and they moved to across the street from the DMV which is a very long bus ride.  I wouldn't want to take my bike because well, I'm going there because of my bike and I don't have the proper locks for my bike yet until I get money.  So I'm kind of stuck until I get money.

I hope the pain will go away soon because I don't have any pain pills or the money for them.  I do have a couple ibuprofens still for my carpel tunnel syndrome and I'm seeing that doctor on Friday so hopefully he will renew that for me.

Walnut Hollow Hot Tool Issues

July 15th 2009:

I just emailed Walnut Hollow with this query but I wanted to post it here as well.

I have a Creative Versa-Tool wood burning kit.  Sometimes the points get black from being used so much or maybe from being turned on for extended periods of time.  The points I can sand with a very fine metal sandpaper which I usually use when needed but the threads on the points also get black.  I can use a wire brush to get the black off the threads on the points but what about the inside of the tool?

I'm having issues getting the points on and even taking them off.  I have to use a pair of pliers to put the points on and take them off because it's so tight from all the black on the threads.

So while I await their response I'm going to save this post as a draft so I don't have to edit my post.

I am still waiting for their response but while I was waiting I decided to try my own little experiment.  I tried looking for a wire brush, it looks like a tooth brush but it's wire instead of the normal plastic bristles your tooth brush has.  I wasn't so lucky but I did find something that is a bit longer than the average tooth brush with longer bristles and is meant for use in the kitchen.  So I grabbed that and also a can of WD-40 meant to keep my bicycle lubed up at all times.

I sprayed some of that on 2 of my points and it soaked the In 'N Out Burger napkins on my desk so the bottom of my desk is now an oily mess.  I proceeded to scrub the shit out of the points with the brush and even though I could see some blackness going onto the bristles, the threads didn't change.

I then squirted some WD-40 into the chamber where you screw the points, not too much, I flipped it over and tapped it on the napkin so in case I put too much in there then it would drip out.  I then tried screwing a point on and unscrewing, you know, to grease the threads and it seems to have helped a little but not too much.  Maybe it just needs that to be done several times to get that shit out of the threads on the inside and on the points.

It's too late now to get a response so back to the draft this post goes until I get a response hopefully tomorrow (Thursday).

July 20th 2009:
Dear Michel,

I believe that the ‘black’ on the Points and threads is due to a reaction when the metals get hot from the tool. To remove this, you can use fine grade sandpaper. As for any difficulty you have changing the Points using pliers, try using powdered graphite (found at most hardware stores) to help with changing Points on the tool. Powdered graphite is mostly used in locks to make keys slide in and out easier – works on our hot tool threads also.

Hope this helps,

Chris

The Lonely Buddy List

When I first got AOL it was 1997 and I made lots of friends on there who I still stay in touch with. Since then I've added services such as Yahoo, MySpace, Facebook, MSN, Gmail and ICQ so you would think that my buddy list would just be packed with lots of friends to talk to. I use so many IM programs that I have to use 1 single IM program (Pidgin) that connects to all those buddy lists just so I won't have to use up all my system resources for IMing. Yet, I face a new dilemma. Nobody is ever on anymore. My buddy list is the loneliest buddy list. I had to add myself so it wouldn't be lonely but it only makes it look more pathetic and sad :(.

Proper Bike Locks

This guy named Hal Ruzal critiques how New Yorkers lock their bicycles.  He grades them on the standard school scale of A - F.  I can say that I would easily get an F.  And I thought I was doing a good job keeping my bike safe when taking it to the grocery store.  All I have is 1 lock that I lock the frame to the pole at the grocery store.  I get a F-.  I need to lock up my new bicycle seat, my front wheel and back wheel to the bike too.  I guess I am ignorant.  Although it's a bit safer (not that much safer) in California because in my entire life the only thing that has ever been taken was a bike seat at the mall in Canoga Park.  I was only gone for 5 minutes too so they got it relatively fast.  Then there was this one time that the entire bike was gone when I came out of school, someone picked my bike out of the hundreds of bikes at the school bike lot.

Back/Knee Problems w/New Seat

As the title says I am having Back and Knee (not backne as in acne on my back) issues from this new seat.  I've adjusted it every way I can to get it comfortable.  No matter how I adjust it I am being pushed forward to the handlebars and it has been causing me issues with my shoulders and my upper back.

And my right knee has been giving me issues since I got this new seat.  Keep in mind this is only day 5 so maybe 10 more days (the guy said keep trying for 3 weeks, to me 5 days is 1 week since I only ride 5 days a week) and maybe, just maybe that will go away.

I'm going to keep trying though because I really don't want to sit on anything that is going to cause numbness in my giggle area.

I removed the sheepskin during my ride today because I was thinking that maybe the sheepskin is giving me issues and it was.  That is what was making me slide forward all the time.  So just sitting on the seat without the sheepskin and the seat pretty much grabs onto my shorts like a cell phone on one of those rubber mats that you stick on your dashboard.  If that makes any sense.

I'm still going to buy another gel seat and cut the nose (or horn) off then sew it back together so it fits this new seat.  I think that will help not only raising me back up to where I was to give my knee some help but also my underwear seam won't hurt my butt lol.  And I think it will feel better on my sit bones if I'm sitting on gel instead of the seat.  Actually the seat without any cover on it is pretty cushioned, it doesn't really need any cushion so that's good.

Bike Cam 2 Video

The video starts out on Manor St. and ends up at China Grade Loop. It takes me about 44 minutes to get to my final destination from the house then after I have rested for about 5 minutes I get back on the bike and head back home. My total round trip ride coming all the way out to here is 22 miles, it takes 2 hours but waiting for the stop lights/signs and my 5 minute break my total time is about 90-95 minutes and my average speed is 14.0-14.3 mph.

At the end it says To Be Continued... As soon as I get used to riding 22 miles per day and it's not enough exercise then I will be adding more miles by continuing past China Grade Loop on the bicycle trail.

Bike Cam Part 2 Troubles

I took the camera with me this morning and turned it on just before I got to the tunnel to go past Manor St.  I went through the tunnel, over the bridge and through the woods to grandmother's house er um wait no that's not right... ok, I went through the tunnel then over the bridge ... then kept riding.

As I went over the 2nd bridge the bicycle went over the usual bumps before and after but the 2nd bridge screwed up the camcorders ability to auto focus lol.  I tried fixing it but it just would not fix so I stopped recording but I just could not fix it.  I turned it off hoping that would help and it did.  So I turned it back on and kept riding.  I went all the way to the end of that part of the bike trail and turned off the camera.

I get home and plug the camcorder into the computer and the program I use ImageMixer 3 gives me errors.  It cannot download from the camera at all.  I have a feeling it's because of those darn bumps but then I go to watch it from the camcorder onto the computer with PowerDVD and it stops after only 20 seconds which was when I first started filming so I'm a bit stumped.

This morning at 8am they closed that part of the bike trail from the first tunnel to the 2nd tunnel until tomorrow afternoon at 2:30pm so tomorrow morning I won't be doing my 22 mile trip, instead I'm going to have to settle for 16 miles so I won't be able to do it over tomorrow.

The video plays just fine in the camera so I thought that maybe I could just plug it into the TV and record it with my DVD recorder.  Well, when I plug it into the TV it shrinks the video from 16:9 to 4:3 so that doesn't do me any good.  I'll need a widescreen TV to be able to do that.  So instead I just put the mini DVD into the DVD recorder and recorded it to a VHS then recorded it back to a regular DVD.

I tried putting the DVD into my computer but it won't recognize dvd's that I've recorded on the dvd recorder so I had to put it in my laptop.  It's uploading now so as soon as it's finished I will transfer it over to my computer and work on it.  I will try to get it on YouTube today and when I do I will post it here.  Well, as a new post.

Bike Cam Part 2

When I did the Bike Cam video the place where I stopped at was my half way point, the place where I would rest before I got back on and turned around to go back home.  That was 16 miles round trip.  Well, since then I've added to my bike ride.  I was going 19 miles then 20 miles then 21 miles and now I'm going all the way to China Grade so my bike ride is now 22 miles round trip.

So since I'm going to China Grade now, the next time I ride I will bring the camera with me and when I get to Manor St. instead of going through the tunnel I will set my camera up on the handlebars and then continue through the tunnel from there and go all the way to China Grade before stopping the camera.

This of course means that I will have to leave the house at 5am instead of the usual 4:30am because when I get to Manor St. the sun isn't even up yet and I don't think doing a video in the dark is very productive lol.  Especially since I don't have a light for the camcorder.

Anyway, tomorrow is my day off from riding, I do 3 days on then 1 day off to give my body (and now especially because of the new seat) some time to heal.  So Thursday morning I will take the camera with me and video tape it and then by Thursday afternoon the video will be on YouTube.

If you want to help me before then, suggest a couple of songs for me to buy to put in the video via a comment.

Day 3 With My New Bike Seat

Today is the 3rd day and final blog post about my new Ergo bicycle seat.  I'm getting used to it more and now instead of just being strange it's starting to feel normal.

It's still too hard for my butt so I still plan on buying another gel seat cover and cutting off the nose (to spite it's face? lol) then of course sewing it back up so I can just put that on top of the seat.  The sheepskin is nice but it's a winter coat for a bike seat, not a summer coat heh.  Hopefully by winter I will be able to slip the sheepskin over the gel but I'm not quite sure how that's going to work out so we'll see.

I still highly recommend "the Bicycle Seat" but I would go with the gel seat if you have a fat ass like mine and you don't like hard seats lol.

Jackson 3?

Joe Jackson has said in an interview "who else is going to raise those kids?".  Uh, anybody but YOU!  He was saying that he can see some talent in Paris and that Blanket can dance.  He already sees dollar $ign$ in his eyes.  Can you imagine if this fool gets his hands on those kids?  History will repeat if he gets his hands on these children and I just know that he will start beating them and he will take their childhood away from them.

Michael Jackson said that when he thinks about Joe Jackson he regurgitates and Joe said "yeah, regurgitates all the way to the bank".  This man has ice in his veins not blood.  He can not get his hands on these kids.  I think that if they want to be performers that should be their decision and not forced on them.

As I said earlier, Joe Jackson said there is nobody else to take care of the kids.  And you think that YOU are the only one who is capable of taking care of kids?  What about Janet?  What about Germaine?  What about Diana Ross?  What about their birth mother?!?!  I think there are plenty of people who are more capable of raising a child let alone 3 children than you are Mr. Jackson.  You need to go away and get off camera please.

Day 2 With New Bike Seat

Yesterday I felt everything was against me.  My back tire had a bump in it, my computer wire was cut from the pimple in the front tire and my seat just wasn't comfortable at all.

But yesterday I fixed the back tire by putting in a different tube, not the presta but the other valve, I fixed the wires for the computer and I adjusted my seat ok.

Today I woke up late.  I normally set the alarm to wake me up at 4am but I guess I forgot last night because I woke up at 5:30am.  So I was able to leave at 6am.  I thought the world was going to be against me again but it was ok.

I thought that yesterdays last adjustment of the seat was good where I made it so it's forward and not backward but that wasn't good at all.  I just felt like I was going to fall off.  When I got to the bike trail I decided I need to adjust it yet again so I just moved it back 1 notch and it was good the rest of the trip.

I did my 20 miles and all was good.  Although, I need to sit in the Shiatsu massager for awhile because my back is killing me from that lol.  It's like my arms are pushing too hard on the handlebars or something.  I'm sure that I will be comfortable with this new seat and then there won't be any problem.

Oh one last thing, when I was looking at the website where I bought the new seat from I was debating on if I should buy the cheapest seat by itself or maybe with the sheepskin.  Or maybe I should buy the gel seat I just don't know.  So I emailed the website asking them for their opinion and the guy who runs it said that he uses the classic with sheepskin so I took his word for it and bought that.  Big mistake.

I should've taken into consideration that sheepskin is going to be hot during the summer lol.  DUH!  And I really do need that gel seat.  It's just too bad that I gave my old seat along with the gel cover to a neighbor.  I could've cut the gel part and sewn it to the bottom of the sheepskin.  Or I could just cut it at the crotch area and just make my own cover with the fabric that it has on it.  Just a little nip and tuck here and I could've used it.  Oh well, maybe next check I can buy another gel seat cover from Walmart or Target and just cut it up and put it on there.

New Lower Price Kindle

There is now a lower priced Amazon Kindle at $299.  Now that's what I'm talking about.  Although it has a 6" screen, 2 GB HD (1.4 available for user content) and you can see what else it has...

Kindle: Amazon's 6" Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation)

It's not as big as the latest Kindle and it doesn't have an SD slot, it's not in color and it isn't touchscreen.  But the good news is that it's coming down in price.  Maybe they are seeing that people just aren't buying the Kindle because of the gigantic cost.  I mean, $300 is still a lot of money but not compared to $489 for the Kindle DX.

If I bought a Kindle for $299 then I bet you anything in about a year they will have a better one for $199 then a year later a better one for $99.  Well, I don't know if they will drop that dramatically but I think I'm going to wait for them to come down a bit more before I take that leap.

I would love to buy a bigger screen one for Chip for the newspaper but unfortunately our local paper is not available for the Kindle.  They are digital but with another company so hopefully when the Kindle goes down in price then our paper will see that it's getting popular or they are getting a lot of requests then they will finally add their paper to the Kindle.

Tinkerbell Woodburn

A few years ago I was looking at my sisters MySpace page and she has a Tinkerbell obsession from what I could tell lol.  Over the years I've been wanting to do something nice for her that is Tinkerbell related but I could never afford to until now.  Although, I didn't really "buy" her anything as much as I made her something...

I made her this thing that she can hang on her wall hehe.  I'm not sure if she will want to hang it but I will put one of those picture hanging metal things on the back with those brads so she can just put a nail in the wall then rest it on the nail.  Although she might not want to hang it, maybe she might want to use it as a paperweight who knows lol.  Whatever she does with it is out of my hands once she gets it hehe.

I just love her so much, she has helped me when I was a teenager and in my early 20's by giving me a roof over my head and she's just always been there for me and I want her to know I appreciate her.

My interesting ride today

I went on my ride this morning but I found that I had a few problems.

  • As I was riding the bike I got to where Kaiser Permanente hospital is and their lights were shining on me and I went to look at the computer to see what time it was and to see how fast I was going with my new tires and seat but the screen was blank.  So I pulled over to find out what the issue was.  When I put the wheel back on the front fork I put it on backwards so my magnet was on the wrong side of the wheel lol.  So I put it on the correct side and spun the wheel but it still didn't work.  It's because of what my pimpled front tire did to the computer wire, it stripped it so there are wires that are exposed so it doesn't work now.  So today I have no reference of how fast I was going or how many calories I burned.

  • When I left the house I didn't notice that my back wheel had a bump to it.  As I was riding on the bike trail I could feel the bump and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do about it because it's a brand spanking new tire.  When Chip bought me the new tires he also bought me new tubes that had the presta valves.  My front wheel is brand new (26x2.00) but my back wheel (26x1.95) is the original wheel on the bike so since they are both different sizes they both won't accept presta valve because the presta valve tubes have this big ring under the valve.  The regular tubes that you buy don't so I just had to change the tube on the bike trail then all was good.

  • And now my new seat lol.  Yesterday when I first put the new seat on I rode it down the street then had to come back to adjust it.  Then I rode around a bit and had to make an adjustment here and there and I thought I had it all worked out but I guess I didn't.  So on my bike ride this morning I think I pulled over 3 times to make adjustments.  I finally got it to a comfortable position.  I had to raise my handlebars though because even though the instructions are to lower the seat by 1 inch I did that yesterday and my legs were bending too much so I put it back so today all I had to do was raise the handlebars and that fixed that issue.

Since my computer didn't work today I'm going to have to write down an old time when I used to go 16 miles so I can at least have something to write down.  I'll have to fix that wire today so that I can use it tomorrow.

"The Bicycle Seat" website that I got the new seat from say to give it at least 3 weeks and considering I've already given my old seat and the gel cover to a neighbor I have no choice but to give it 3 weeks lol.  I can't ride any other way.  But I do want to give it some time to get used to because I'm not numb today in the naughty parts but my butt is killing me lol.  My arms are killing me too ugh.

The Bicycle Seat

Well I got my bike seat today.  I almost didn't get it because the mail carrier left it on my doorstep where anybody walking by could take it.  They didn't even bother ringing the doorbell.  I'm about to go out on it now.  BRB.

...

The website where I bought this seat from, The Bicycle Seat suggest that you ride it for 40 minutes so that you can make adjustments here and there so it's comfortable.  They suggest that you lower the seat 1 inch which I'm not quite sure that works for me, I'm probably going to have to raise it back up.  But I had to adjust my gear shifting thingamabob because when I was riding it I felt like I was riding faster than the bike was capable of so I adjusted that and it works for me.  I adjusted the seat so it's down a bit in the back as per their suggestion and that kinda helps.

I do kinda feel strange though while riding it.  I can actually feel my "sit bones" sitting on this seat.  Before it was just my crotch area that was sitting on the seat.  Now I won't have to make any more adjustments to my shorts while riding.  They usually ride up because of the "horn" or "nose" of the seat.

Well, I don't really have the time to test it out for a full 40 minutes today because I have lots to do but tomorrow I will be on my 2 hour / 20 mile bike ride so as soon as I get home (probably 6:30 or 7am) I will definitely be back here to blog about my strange new experience.

Warehouse 13

The new SyFy show Warehouse 13 aired a few nights ago with their 2 hour pilot.  I watched it when it aired but I really didn't know how I felt about it so I didn't want to blog about it just yet.

It's been on just about everyday since so I've seen it 3 times (including right this minute watching it yet again).  I'm still on the fence about the characters.  The 2 secret service characters I like but the guy with the curly hair (yeah, I don't know names yet lol) seems a bit over the top.  I mean, he over reacts a bit too much lol.  Maybe that's the way they wrote the character or maybe the way the actor is portraying that character and he is a great actor, I just find it a little neurotic that's all.

Other than that it just seems to me like Eureka 2.  I know it has nothing to do with Eureka but I kinda feel like they needed a show that was similar to Eureka since they are having success with that so here is this show.  Or maybe I'm just thinking about it too much lol.

As I said I don't want to judge the show too much just yet because it was only the first episode which was kinda cool and all so I'm gonna give it another episode or 3 before deciding for myself.

I got wood...

... for wood burning lol.  What were you thinking?  You dirty birds.

My package from Walnut Hollow came tonight with 4 medium pieces of wood and 2 large pieces of wood.  I also got a book and the numbers and letters as well as some fun shapes to burn with that all screw onto the wood burning tool.

I was going to do my own font for the Spirit board but considering the large wood is a bit smaller than I thought it would be I'm gonna have to use the smaller letters and numbers and since I bought letters and numbers then why not use them right?  Then once I'm done with it then I can just do some other designs on the board.  Although, now I need to make a smaller planchette lol.  I have another piece of wood so no biggy.  I want to make a different one anyway without the hole inside with just a pattern on the top of it.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what I'm going to make.

New Tires for Bike

We went to Sports Authority today when Chip came home from work and he bought me 2 new tires so I don't just have a replacement for the front wheel but one for each.  He said when you buy tires for a car you don't just buy 1, you buy 4.  Good thing I didn't need 4 because these tires were $20 each.  Plus he bought me 2 new tubes even though I just bought 2 new tubes.  But the ones that I just bought can be backup for these lol.

Edit: I would just like to add that the new tubes that Chip bought me to go with these new tires were difficult as HELL to pump air into lol.  They have "Presta Valve" which means I gotta start using my Nashbar pump again lol.  The pump I am referring to is the pump I bought from Nashbar.com, it's not a nashbar brand.  Anyway, it has both regular and presta so I can use that now.  The reason I haven't been using it is because it wasn't working with the regular tubes, it was always letting the air out while I was pumping so I could only get 20PSI into the tires with that pump.  I had to go to my old pump to put 60PSI into my tires.

Anyway, with the "nashbar" pump it took me forever to put the air into them.  I should be in bed by now asleep and in dream land but instead I'm still awake.  It's almost 11pm and here I am blogging about how I'm still awake.  UGH!

My Bike Must Be a Teenager

I guess my bicycle must be a teenager because the front tire has a pimple on it lol.  I was riding along this morning and all of a sudden it felt like I was hitting bumps in the road but I knew there weren't any bumps at all.  I couldn't do anything about it either because the sun wasn't up at all so I had to wait until I got to my halfway point which was when the sun starts to come up.

As I'm riding I pass this baby stroller on the side of the bike path and I looked at it while I was passing it and saw 3 heads get up and turn to look at me as I'm passing.  I could've sworn 2 of those heads were dog heads while the 3rd one was a bald headed man lol.  The pimple in my tire was making noise and it woke them up.

So I get to my halfway point and I really don't see anything wrong with the tire.  Then I see this bulge sticking out of the side of the tire and the top of the tire too so the top of the tire was slanted in that one spot lol.  I figure I can't do anything until I get home because I'm probably going to have to remove the tire and the tube and adjust it.

I finish my 10 minute break and start to head back, I look at my computer and it says I'm going 35 then 40mph lol.  WHAT?!  There ' no way I'm ' 40 lol.  I pull over again and see that the pimple is rubbing the wire going to my computer and it's stripping it exposing the wiring inside.  I definitely have to fix the tire now.  I pull the wire tight so it isn't going to get pulled by the tire again then I turn the bike upside down and let the air out of the tire.  I sort of adjust the tire but really, there isn't anything I can do.  I'm not gonna start taking everything apart right there on the side of the bike path road.  I started putting air back in and see the pimple blowing up again so instead of filling it all the way with 64psi I just stop at 30.  That will get me home for sure.

My tire pressure in both tires doesn't have to be the same.  My front can really be 30 or 40 and I'll be fine but my back tire must be either the standard 64 or 60 is good.  The reason my front tire is doing that is because the wheel is 26x2.0 but the tire is 26x1.95 so it's not the same.  So now I need a new tire for the front wheel so when I get some money I will buy the exact tire that I need for the front wheel.

Poor Lonely Laptop

In 2004 I got a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop.  It has served me very well over the years and this year it was time to renew my warranty but I didn't have the money and because it's fairly old I just decided that it wasn't worth it to keep paying to renew it.  Instead I could just let it lapse and if something goes wrong with it then I guess I will have to start saving money to get a new one. In the meantime it's been turned off and sitting on my desk with the lid closed for the last 6 months.

I think that it's time to turn it on and start transferring all the documents, pictures, music, videos etc over to the desktop just in case it does crash.  Once that's finished then I'm going to reformat it so it's got a nice fresh Windows installation so it's fast again.  Maybe if it's fast then I might use it again.  That's one of the reasons it's been closed all this time because I turn it on and it takes about 20 minutes before I can even go to a website.  It's so frustrating to have to wait that long.

One of the main uses for the laptop these days is for when we travel because I have the Microsoft Streets & Trips with USB GPS.  I would much rather have a TomTom or a Garmin GPS though because it's too hot to have a laptop on my lap during a 6 hour trip lol.

This is going to take awhile lol.

By the way, when I say it's on my lap for 6 hours I mean as the passenger lol.  I don't drive...

Fresh Air Fund - Half Marathon

Here is something interesting that came to my inbox today.  There is this half marathon going on this August 16th, 2009 and they are looking for not only runners but also sponsors to help out in their fund raise.

Visit Half-Marathon for more details.

I really wish that I could be there to run but I'm certainly in no shape to run.  Ride a bike yes, run no.  Here is a quote from the website.

"Last summer's NYC Half-Marathon Presented by NIKE was a huge success for The Fresh Air Fund, and we couldn't have done it without all of our Fund-Racers! Thank you to the dedicated runners who participated through our team and to everyone who came out to support us! We raised more than $125,000 which will go directly to our free programs for NYC children."

I believe in what they do.  And what is it that they do you ask?  Well, since 1877 they have been providing summer vacations to more than 1.7 million children from low income communities in New York.  I sure do love summer camp.  Summer camp is the best way for kids to make friends and get away from their parents for a few weeks.  And believe you me, it's not just a break for the kids but also for the parents too.

So if you live in the east coast, more specifically in the New York area please help these kids by entering as either a runner or perhaps you can donate some money to sponsor a runner so these kids can go to camp this summer.

New Bicycle Seat

I'm still waiting for this new bicycle seat to come.  Hopefully it will come soon.  They guy who runs the website I bought it from emailed me to tell me that his parents passed away and that he would ship it to me in 4-5 days.  Well, it's been 7 days now.

This morning after I came home from my bike ride and I took my shower I decided to lay down for a bit.  Well, I just got up and saw in my email that he placed the order on Tuesday July 7th 2009 which was 5 days so he did good on his promise July 2nd 2009 (I misread it because the date says 02-07-2009 and I wasn't looking at the day being before the month) .  But I didn't get a UPS tracking email yet.  I'm sure that will come soon.  I wonder why I'm just now getting the email though if he placed the order on Tuesday and today is Thursday.  Oh well, no matter.  As long as he placed the order that's all I care about.

I'm hoping that I get it soon though because I'm having real pain shooting down into my thigh from my crotch area.  I need that seat stat.

Edit: I got my confirmation email from USPS that my package will be shipped out today but there is no tracking since the guy from that website used the USPS website to print out the shipping label.  So technically he still has the seat until the post office picks it up from him.  When they pick it up then I will be able to track it to see what day it will come.

I'm really super excited lol.

Google Chrome OS?!?!

This is coming straight from the Google blog...

Official Google Blog: Introducing the Google Chrome OS

Wow.  That's so cool.  This is going to be neat to be able to turn your computer on and once it gets past all those tests that you see, you know, where it shows how much memory you have, then all of a sudden you've got desktop.  No more waiting for the Windows screen that shows that animated bar at the bottom of the screen.  Instead you are instantly taken right to your desktop so you can immediately start browsing the web.

The only thing that concerns me is if this will allow me to install my Windows programs like the Sims, EverQuest, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, Autodesk 3DS Max 2008, my webcam software, my mp3 player software etc.  And will it allow my hardware like my webcam and my Kodak printer?

One of the things that I really look forward to is if this will allow me to play my old Win 98 games that Win XP won't let me run.  I just hope that this isn't something like Mac and Linux where you have to buy the Google OS software only which will probably only be a few programs at first and will always only have 10% of the software compared to the 100% that Windows offers.  That's always been an issue and why I won't ever have a Mac or Linux again because I want to be able to buy whatever program I want.  It's really depressing when you go to buy software and the aisle for that OS is just a shelf while the rest of the store is for Windows.

Of course I'll have to wait until the 2nd half of 2010 for this to become available so I look forward to all of the blogs and pictures and possibly videos showing how well it is on Netbooks.

New Purpose for Stakes

Years ago we bought these stakes from the garden section of the local hardware store.  No, we don't have a vampire problem.  We were putting grass seeds on the grass to grow new grass and to prevents people from walking all over the new grass we put the stakes in the ground and used this green tape on the stakes.  Although, that didn't do much good, people broke the green tape and walked on our lawn anyway.

We still have all these stakes though and don't really know what to do with them so they just sit on the patio collecting dust.  I just got an idea today...

I'm going to take the sander and sand the sides of them then use those zig zag type of metal nail things that you hammer into 1 piece of wood on the side then you hammer another piece of wood onto the other side of the zig zag nail to join the 2 pieces of wood.  I'm going to put some wood glue in there and attach maybe 5 of the stakes together then press them tight and let the pieces dry.  I'm going to do this with several of the stakes so I have more than just 1 or a few pieces.  I'm going to keep 1 stake for every board that I make so I can use them to stake the board into the ground.

Why would I need to stake boards into the ground?  Because I'm thinking that maybe I can use these boards for wood burning projects.  I can wood burn patterns for gardens as gifts for Christmas.  I think it will be neat.  I could burn maybe a picture of fairies sitting on or flying around mushrooms or maybe some gnomes or something lol.  I think it's a neat idea and it gives me free wood to burn on since we already have the wood lol.

Busy Body Walmart Employee

We went to Walmart the other day so I could buy some tubes for my bike and when I got to the register this cashier was bitching to us about how these people bought some soda pop using an EBT card.  EBT is like food stamps but in the form of a debit card.

What she said was she told the person buying soda "I don't think that's right that you are buying soda using this card because it has no nutritional value.  You should be buying food with that, not soda".  While I agree with her that they should be using that money to buy things like bread, dairy, cereals, meat etc, it's not her place as a cashier to tell a customer that she doesn't think that it's right that they are buying soda.

It's really none of her business.  Her argument was that food stamp money comes out of her taxes so in a way it kind of is her business but on the other hand she has no right telling that to the customer as an employee of Walmart.  And... I don't want to hear that.  I don't want to go to a cashier and hear them bitching about the previous customer.  Again, I agree with her but I don't want to hear it.  Now if she was off duty and at home then sure, go ahead and bitch about it to your friends and family but don't take it out on the customers.

Her argument was that she can't afford to buy a bottle of water and these people are using her tax dollars to buy soda.  First off, she has no right buying water that is free.  All she has to do is bring a bottle with her to work, like a sports bottle or something, and then fill it up with the water cooler or drinking fountain.  Or fill it up at home with your Brita filter and bring it with you, bring a couple of bottles with you in your purse and keep them in your locker.  Don't keep buying bottled water.  That's not very green.  Me personally, I fill up those 3 gallon bottles, like the sparkletts or arrowhead bottle and I have a ceramic bottle holder with a spout that I use to drink my water.  Now that's green.

Today's agenda

I've already gone out on the bike trail this morning at 4:30am and returned before 6:30am doing 20 miles.  Since I had 2 flat tires in 2 days on the front tire I've been leery every time I start riding after stopping at like a stop light or a stop sign because it just feels like I have a flat tire.  Then I get off the bike to check and it's still hard from all the air pressure inside of it.

I'm still exhausted from all that work I did yesterday at the rental house next door.  I still have to do the bathroom, the bath tub, sink and toilet, the floor is already mopped.  Then I have to rake up all the leaves and dog poop that the last tenants were nice enough to leave me to clean up.  I think 3 large piles that he raked up but never actually shoveled up and thrown out.  What a nice guy right?  So now I gotta do his dirty work.  That's it!  No more pets allowed.

Michael Jackson's memorial service at the Staples center will be broadcast live from 9am to 1pm on almost every channel today and Chip wants me to record it for him from CNN.  He wanted me to record it from E! but I was going through the guide on the cable but E! doesn't show it being live until tonight so there's something wrong there lol.  They say 10am PST but it shows the Michael Jackson True Hollywood Story being played over and over.  I think CNN will do just fine.  Although it would suck if they had breaking news during the event.

"We interrupt the memorial of Michael Jackson to bring you this report.  Casey Anthony demanding that she get some water, can you believe this?  She actually wants some water... How dare she!"  .... 30 minutes later "Back to you Staples Center."

Yeah that would suck lol.

So at about 6pm tonight is the new show Warehouse 13 on SyFy channel.  Yes I said 6pm.  I have SyFyHD which is eastern time zone so I get to watch it as the east coast does.

My day is pretty much set already.  UGH!  I have to go fold laundry before I go next door lol.

We The People Stimulus Package

Busy All Day

Wow I've just been busy all day long without 1 moment to catch my breath.  First off I woke up late.  I didn't set the right time on my alarm for some reason.  The alarm clock has 2 alarm settings so if your spouse or whatever has to wake up at a earlier or later time then you can have them both set differently and both turned on.  Well, I have them both set for different times and the one that I needed wasn't turned on lol.  I guess I just forgot to turn it on the right one.

So I woke up on my own at 5:30am and went out, Dell DJ battery was almost dead so naturally I had to charge that up.  6:30am comes and I leave the house.  I'm on my way home and my brand spanking new tube for the front tire blows.  UGH!  I'm like 5 minutes away from the house (not walking, by bike) so I have to pull over and put some air in the tube, just enough to get me home.  I come home and feel the tire and it's goin' down hehe.

I get in the shower immediately and then walk over to Albertsons to buy a bike repair kit.  My bike repair kit sucks, the patches aren't patching lol so I needed a new one, one with that glue.  But Albertsons doesn't have them so I go to Walgreen's and get it.  Of course I had to go back to Albertsons anyway for other things.

I come home, put the new patch on the tube and I take one of my old tubes that the patch didn't work for and I just cut it all the way around and since it has that green goop stuff (which doesn't work by the way lol) I have to wash all that out, throw away all the chunks and then get it all off by hand in a bucket of water.  So then I wrapped that around my tube, the one that I just bought yesterday that already has a hole in it that I just patched up lol.  So hopefully this patch will keep it patched and if I run over another sticker then that extra tube in there will take the impact of it and not let it go through to the new tube.

So now it's 11:45am, I'm going to drink my slim fast shake but then I have to go next door and clean the rental.  We were going to do it over the weekend but Chip was just too exhausted to go over there.  He slept the entire weekend lol.

Hopefully it won't take me too long, I'm going to bring my alarm clock and set it for 2:50pm so that I can come over here and watch Stargate SG-1 at 3pm.  If I still have more to do then of course I'll go back but I don't think there is too much to clean.

LATE!

ARGH!  I woke up and it's 5:30am because I set the wrong alarm.  My alarm clock has 2 alarms on it and I set the wrong one lol.  I didn't even wake up from the alarm, I just woke up.  I looked at the cable box to see what time it was and I was like OMG!  I'm LATE!

Then I go to fill my camelbak with ice and water and I think hmmm, I wonder.  So I turn on my Dell DJ Mp3 player and the battery is dead lol.  Great!  Perfect!  Well, it had 0 bars but it wasn't dead dead.  I could listen to the radio on it but I prefer music.

So Since I'm already late I might as well wait until it's charged up a little bit more.  I'll leave the house at 6:30am which is about the same time I usually come home from riding the bike.  According to the weather channel app on my computer, 6am will be 70, 7am will be 71 and 8am will be 73.  Since I won't be coming home until 8:30am I might as well mention that 9am will be 76 so between 8am and 9am the temp will go up by only 2 degrees so I'm not concerned about the heat catching up to me.  That's the only reason I ride so early, to beat the heat.

Oh well, it finally gives me a chance to fully wake up before actually starting my day.  Or... does this mean that everything else this morning is going to go wrong and I should just stay home?  LOL

Me in the Simpsons - Wood Burned/Painted

I got bored...  LOL I went to the google search engine and typed "turn picture into simpsons character" and I found this website from Burger King called Simpsonize Me.  I thought it was a very good likeness of me lol and I got bored so I wood burned it and that wasn't enough for me, I had to paint it too lol.  So here you go, I hope you like it.

Is Bakersfield a safe place to ride a bicycle?

Is Bakersfield a safe place to ride a bicycle?

This article was in today's Bakersfield Californian newspaper.

In my opinion it is only safe to ride a bicycle if you are a defensive rider.  If you are watching where you are going, looking both left and right, never crossing the street unless you have the green light (or in some cases walk signal).  Never riding on the wrong side of the road then crossing while a car is turning left (which happened to me).

This one time I was leaving the bike path and I was crossing the street and this pickup truck was pulling out in front of me while he was looking right at me.  He nearly ran me over.  This was about 10am in the morning too so it's not like he was drinking and driving... that I know of at least.

I have a little mirror that is attached to my helmet and I'm constantly looking at it to see the traffic behind me so I know what is coming at me.

Now I cannot say that it is 100% safe to ride as early as I do because even at 4:30am there are probably still some drunk drivers out there but usually when I ride that early there are maybe 1 or 2 cars every 10 minutes so it's pretty safe where and when I ride.

You also have to consider the fact that I'm not riding in the busy streets along with traffic.  I start out in a neighborhood and I'm pretty much only in neighborhoods until I get to the bike path so there is not that much danger of getting hit.  And I know a route that gets me to the mall and to Target where it's through neighborhoods and I never have to drive with traffic.

So is Bakersfield a safe place to ride a bicycle?  I think it is during the morning or during the daytime IF you aren't driving in traffic where there are no bike paths or where cars are parked right in the bike path.  If you try to ride through neighborhoods then you are safe.  But if you drive alongside cars then there is never a guarantee that you are ever safe.  Even if you are crossing the street you aren't ever safe because there are always reports of people getting killed while crossing the street.  Is it safe for me to ride here?  Yes, because I am a defensive rider and I pick the best safest routes.

If you live in a city that you aren't sure where the safest routes are, why not just go to your favorite map website, I go to google maps and I map out my route then I adjust the route so I am going through neighborhoods then I print it out and hold it while riding through that neighborhood so I learn it so the next time I have to go that way I will remember.  And if I don't remember then I print it out again (if I threw the old map out that is).

Ron Weasley Gets Swine Flu!

Potter actor gets swine flu in Britain: publicist

OMG!  NOT RON WEASLEY!!!  That's horrible!  Well, according to this article he's better now.  I thought that shit killed you?  Well, WHEW!  He's ok.

More Miles

I don't know why I'm going through this stupid plateau. Who invented that anyway? God? Thanks god! Why can't I just do my exercise and eat right and continue to lose weight anyway? Why does it have to stop even though I haven't stopped?

So I'm looking at my index cards that I have written all my bicycle computer information down (and also put it in my website too (@ http://www.xanapus.com/bike_computer.htm) since I bought it in November and I'm seeing that when I first started writing it down I was going an average distance of 6 miles and that was just getting from the house to beach park then resting and then going back home and not even getting on the bike trail. But then the 2nd thing on this chart is 9 miles so I actually got on the bike path and made an effort.

So then as you can see I started going further even going 18 miles in 1 day then 17 miles the next day then I realized that I was being stupid, that my legs were just not ready for it so I stopped doing that and my average distance was 11 miles per day. Then tragedy struck, I had my accident.

So in April when I started riding again I was going an average of 9 or 10 miles per day. In mid May I started to step it up and went 11, 12 and 13 miles and even went 16 miles per day but then realized it was too much so I started going 12, then 10 then 12 then 10 lol.

So in June I was doing 12 and 14 miles then I started experimenting with 16 miles and next thing you know for 2 1/2 weeks I'm going 16 miles everyday that I ride. No more and no less. But then July hits and I get a bug up my bum, well, a homeless guy sleeping at the Manor St. rest stop actually helped me decide to go further and so I started going 19 miles per day.

Well, I'm going to just step it up a bit more. I've been doing the 19 miles per day twice now so I'm going to just add 1 more mile to that. No reason other than 19 just isn't a very even number lol. I'd rather do 20 so I can say oh yeah I ride 20 miles per day.

Then I think in August I might just go ahead and add more to it again and maybe jump up to 25 miles per day. I know my legs are conditioned for it now so I have no problem riding all the way at 4:30am until 5:20am which is when I get to my halfway point so whats another few minutes?

I just want to burn enough calories that this fat will just go the frick away. Hey, you can't say that I'm not determined lol.

EDIT: That was a post I made on the SparkPeople website yesterday.  This morning went I went out on my bike ride I actually did go 20 miles.  20.286 miles to be exact and it wasn't so horrible hehe.  I'm going to do that for 3 days then take 1 day off then do it for 3 days then 1 day off etc.
