Finally a Color e-book

Asus: Cheap, full color e-reader by the end of the year - Source Dvice.com

Finally e-readers are in full color and are coming down in price.  Asus is coming out with their Eee reader by the end of the year for only $164.  Now you're talkin'.  Color and cheap.

Unfortunately, I don't see e-paper, it looks like LED screens lit up.  The whole point of an e-book is so that your book doesn't blind you and that it looks like real paper.  The Amazon Kindle reads like real paper and you can even read it in the sun.  This being an LED may not be easy to see outside in the daylight.

Although it would be neat just to be able to say hey I got an e-book reader and it's in color, I think I'll wait just a bit longer for color e-ink.

I like Amazon's whole thing because you can buy your book directly from the Kindle and it downloads within 60 seconds.  There is no USB cord to the computer and you can buy your book anywhere, not being limited to your computer area.  I would like to be at my Aunt's house and have her tell me that I should read a specific book then say ok let me look it up.  There I go I just bought it and oh wait, I can read it now.  Sorry but that trumps color.

I'm also not so sure about the 2nd window.  What's that all about?  I mean, you can only read 1 page at a time so why use power for 2 screens?  They said on Dvice.com that you can look at a website on the right screen while you read a book on the left screen or you can use the right screen as sort of a keyboard then use your e-book reader as a laptop.  I'm not sure about all that.  It sounds cool but how much of a battery am I really getting with this thing?  I highly doubt I'm getting 1 week worth of book reading fun.  Maybe a few hours at the most?  What fun is that?  When I really get into a book I can be reading for up to 8 or 10 hours before my eyes are like whoa doggy, give me a break here.

Edit: I said LCD but that's what a watch screen is right?  Liquid Crystal Display.  A monitor is LED right?  I also read that it will have a webcam and a mic and the ability to use Skype.  I gave this a 8 out of 10 but I'm changing my mind.  I think this deserves a full 10.  Since it works just like a laptop perhaps it might have a bigger hard drive.  I think it would be more like a netbook than a laptop so I think it's worth it for the price.  It's time to start making out my wish list to Santy Claus lol.

Operation Repo

There is this show on TruTV (formerly Court TV) that is a so called "reality show" about these people who go around repossessing cars.  It's a family business.  How these people got their own show is beyond me.  Probably because they are all jerks and that makes for awesome tv.

I personally can't stand it but Chip loves it.  It just pisses me off and I get so mad that I have to get up and leave.

It's not them repossessing the cars but more how they do it.  They are violent, they hit, shove, yell, scheme, and just act like total assholes the whole time and they are supposed to be in the right.

I'm sorry but it's not legal to just go around hitting people.  If the person who you are basically stealing their car with all their stuff in it hits you first then hitting them is warranted but they are always the ones doing the hitting.

There was this one episode that really stands out for me where they snuck into this place where this jet was and they hid inside the office and as soon as the pilot came into the office their muscle man guy grabbed the pilot by the neck with his arm and held him up against the wall.  For all this guy knew they were robbing him.  He had no idea why they were there or why they were stealing the plane he was in charge of.  He wasn't even the owner, just the pilot (that I know of).

It's not civilized to go around assaulting people.  Just tell the person you are repo'ing their car, have them sign it and take it but don't go bullying and assaulting people.  These people should've been arrested for assault and battery.

Yes I do realize that they have to repo because people are dead beats who don't pay their bills and I'm not excusing them.  All I'm saying is that these repo people aren't acting like civilized human beings.

New Season of My Shows

I've updated my TV page to add links to each show as well as adding more shows to the schedule since they now have dates of when they will be on.  I found all this information at the Futon Critic website which is a great resource for anything that is tv series related.

There are only a few of my shows that are going to be premiering this week such as Destination Truth on Wednesday, Vampire Diaries and SuperNatural are on Thursday.  Those are the only new seasons for me this week.  I will have to wait 2 more weeks for other shows.

I've noticed that there are some shows that will be on at the same time like Smallville and Ghost Whisperer both at 8pm on different channels.  Thank goodness for video on demand with Bright House cable and Hulu and the channels website.

Isn't this a great digital age we live in?  In the past ever since tv was invented if you miss a show then you will have to wait for it to repeat to see it.  That is unless you recorded it.  But what if you didn't?  There have been so many times that I forgot to set my VCR or DVD recorder to record something.  Having a cable box makes it even more difficult to record something because the cable box has to be on that channel to be able to record your show.  You have to set all your programs to record on channel 3.

A lot of people have a TiVo or a DVR with their cable or satellite company but you have to pay a leasing fee as well as a service fee every month to be able to get a DVR with your cable service.  I was looking at the price for DirectTV and they charge you both those fees.  I know TiVo charges you a monthly fee of like $12 or something a month and you have to buy the box up front.

Having a DVR sounds like a really cool idea but I just don't have that $12-$15 per month to put up just to record my shows.  I will just have to rely on the web and my DVD recorder lol.

Labor Day Ghosts

This morning September 7th 2009 starting at 8am will be a ghostly day for SyFy channel.  Ghost Hunters from 8am to 7pm then Ghost Whisperer from 7pm to 11pm.

These are a few of my favorite things hehe.  I just love Ghost Hunters and having a 11 hour marathon is awesome.

Then they are going to start showing Ghost Whisperer every Monday starting today from 7-11 so for those who missed it starting with season 1 they get another chance by being able to watch 4 episodes a week.  I watched it from the beginning plus I have it on DVD so I don't "need" to watch but that's not to say that I don't want to lol.

Personally I liked the first season of Ghost Whisperer because of Aisha Tyler.  She was the greatest most understanding person in the world.  If Melissa says that she sees ghosts then Andrea says "cool" lol.  "Hey no problem, I'm with you all the way".  Then she died...

I did (do) like "Delia" (Camryn Manheim) but not so much her attitude or close minded attitude towards Melissa's whole deal.  She tried to be supportive but she just refused to believe.  That is until last season when Jim died and she finally saw him in Sam then she realized omg, she's not crazy.

Oh well, at any rate I'm glad I get a whole day of ghosts YAY me lol.
