On February 11th 2009, Joaquin Phoenix was a guest on the David Letterman show. Wow, was he messed up. This guy who was once gorgeous now looks like the unibomber. Take a look.

interestingly, Joaquin Phoenix's appearance on Letterman looked a lot like his acting on Walk the Line, when he (Johnny Cash) was scraping bottom
Yeah at first I thought he was playing a character but then I looked at some other videos on YouTube, one in particular Jason Kennedy from E! is interviewing him and he gives E! an exclusive that he's retiring from acting and Jason Kennedy starts laughing because he thinks it's a joke but Joaquin gets so upset that he walks away.
