Wasp Spray for Protection

I got this email today about using Wasp spray instead of pepper spray.  I don't make it a habit of posting emails that were sent to me but I thought this was particularly interesting because of what Snopes had to say about it.  I wanted to see if it was true but it says Mixture.

It clearly states on the label of wasp spray "It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with it's labeling".  So right there it tells you that it's illegal to use this for anything other than killing wasps or bees.  Of course that is for their own legal benefit so that they don't get sued when people spray each other in the face with this stuff.

Whether the police department advocates using this is all dependent on your local city or state police policy.  It says in this email that it blinds you until you can get to the hospital for the antidote.  Which could take a long time especially if you are blind at the time.  If you are incapacitated how are you going to call 911 or drive to the hospital?

It also says in Snopes that robbers use it to incapacitate people so they can get your money easier so you don't resist and you can't run away.  I personally don't think that telling people about using wasp spray is a good idea because it's putting ideas into peoples heads which I guess I just did.

I didn't paste the email but it has a similar email in that snopes link so check it out and you decide.  Oh and by the way, the email I got today looks like it was changed because it's not the same exact email that is in that snopes article.  Interesting how emails change over time.

I pledge allegiance to the earth?

I pledge allegiance to the (record scratch) earth?  What?  I heard about this on a news channel.  I wasn't actually watching it, I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Chip had the tv on the news and I heard someone talking about that and I didn't know what they were talking about.  All I heard was that they (whoever "they" are) are changing the pledge of allegiance from the flag to the earth and taking god out.  Well, isn't the belief that God created the earth?

This is a direct quote from the UUA.org who is a religious organization:

Vern Barnet

I pledge allegiance to the earth on which I stand,

I pledge allegiance to the earth on which I stand,
and to the environment of which I am a part,
one planet in a Process, with soil, water and air like one body,
indivisible, with resources to be cherished and protected by all.

Just to be clear, this is not new.  This is from April 16th 2008.  So why they are just now bringing it up is beyond me.  Personally I think this was meant for Earth day and not to change the pledge of allegiance for Americans.

First of all the word God is missing so I don't think the religious people would be too keen on taking God out.  2nd of all it doesn't mention the flag of the United States of America which is what the pledge of allegiance is all about so this must be specifically about Earth Day.

As an American, I don't want to see the pledge of allegiance changed.  I don't care whether the word god is in it or not, that doesn't bug me.  I think that whoever was talking about it on tv was just talking about it just to have something to talk about just as I talk about stuff just to have a reason to blog lol.
