Inglourious Basterds

We went to see Inglourious Basterds today at the movies.

"It is the first year of Germany's occupation of France. Allied officer Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) assembles a team of Jewish-American soldiers to commit violent acts of retribution, including the taking of scalps, against Nazi soldiers. Raine and his men join forces with Bridget von Hammersmark, a German actress and undercover agent, to bring down the leaders of the Third Reich. Their fates converge with theater owner Shosanna Dreyfus, who seeks revenge for the Nazis' execution of her family."

All I can say is wow, that was a pretty gorey movie lol.  It's obviously not fact because of the way Hitler died in this movie so right there you know that it's just a tale that they wanted to tell.

Yes I realize that this movie has been in theaters for quite some time now, we don't get to the movies that often so when we do go see a movie it's usually "down the hall and to your right or left" type of a deal.  Let's just say the screen was about maybe half the size of the regular big theater screens that they reserve for movies that just came out.

If you haven't already seen this movie make sure you bring your glasses and are not dyslexic or read slow because about 1/3 of this movie is subtitles.  They are either speaking in German, French or really bad Italian (on Brad Pitts part lol).

Anyway, it was good despite all the scalping.

Racist Facebook Quiz

I like Facebook because it's a good place to connect with your friends and family.  You take quizzes sometimes so when your friends/family are on they know who you really are and what you stand for.  Unfortunately some of the quizzes are very bad.  Take this one for example.  I just went onto Facebook and scrolled down the list to see what all of my friends/family are posting (via the home button) and this is what I see...

racistfbquiz

First of all who in the hell over at Facebook allowed this to even get turned into a quiz?  I cut out the persons name who did this quiz along with the icon or avatar or whatever but this persons comment was "I extremely hate what i chose here".

This doesn't reveal what this person actually picked but the very fact that this person even took this quiz was quite a shock to me.  I'm ashamed that we even still live in an age where racism is allowed to be in such a public domain.

Sleep in the same bed or not?

I'm listening to 95.3 FM KLLY (Kelly) and the morning show with EJ and Niki.  They are talking about whether sleeping in separate beds or rooms is a good idea or not to maintain a healthy marriage or relationship.  EJ is for sleeping in separate beds/rooms while Niki is for sleeping in the same bed whether you get enough sleep or not.

EJ started this whole conversation because a book author in England says that it's a good idea to have separate beds/rooms.

Niki just sounds very close minded the way she is putting people down for wanting to get a good night sleep.  She would rather suggest getting a divorce and totally ending the relationship rather than putting up with a snorer.

So my opinion is that yes it's a good idea to either sleep in separate beds like Lucy and Ricky or just get separate rooms.

At the beginning I didn't know I had sleep apnea, I just snored really really loud and I woke up Chip all night long.  He on the other hand cannot sleep with the tv off which is why after 3 or 4 years I decided to sleep in the living room.  I just couldn't stand having to listen to the tv anymore.  It's distracting and makes it difficult to go to sleep and all night long I was having dreams about what was on the tv.

I also think it's healthy to sleep in separate bedrooms because as EJ said, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder".  If you don't get to see each other all day long and you aren't sleeping with that person and only get to see them 8 or less hours per day you are going to miss them and want to have sex with them more than you normally would.

My great grandparents had separate rooms, Chips cousin and her girlfriend have separate rooms.

Some people need that intimacy, they need to feel the person next to them and I think that's great.  I personally don't have to have someone next to me to be able to get a good night sleep.  I would much rather have a person in the next room than not be with anybody at all.

Oh they keep bringing up sex.  A relationship is not all about sex.  Sex is just a part of a relationship and perhaps if you had separate bedrooms you could go to your husband/wife/life partner's bedroom and do "it" then maybe fall asleep with them or maybe you might go to your room afterward.  Whatever you want.  But sleep has nothing to do with sex.  Everyone needs to have a good night sleep so they can get up in the morning and go to work in a good mood.

Tell me what you think.  Leave a comment below.
