Easter

It's that time of year again where all the kids of America gorge themselves on hard boiled eggs and chocolate rabbits.  For Christians, Easter is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ but for children it's the celebration of the Easter Bunny coming to bring them baskets filled with cavities and egg farts.

It's a joyous occasion for all, whether they be christians, pagans, athiests and children because no matter what you believe, you still get to eat junk food for the day then ham for dinner and then ham sandwiches for the next few days afterwards.

I've been enjoying Easter for the last 2 months since the stores took down the Valentine's day goodies and started putting the Easter candy in.  My dentist loves the business that I give him.

Songs for my Bike Ride

I have a very long playlist in my Mp3 player for my bike ride of 637 songs.  That's quite a bit of songs to hear and obviously I can't listen to them all during my bike ride so I have it going at random so it plays the songs randomly instead of in order.  It just makes sense right?  Because then it sounds like a radio station.

Ok so why not just play the radio?  Well because the radio doesn't play all the stuff I like to listen to.  Actually the radio station I listen to is KLLY 95.3 Fm in Bakersfield, CA and I don't complain about anything they play.  I like everything they play.  And if I don't care for a song it grows on me lol.

I just bought 2 more songs from itunes to add to my very long queue of songs.  Madonna - Womanizer and All American Rejects - Gives you hell.  I've wanted that AAR song for a long time and so now I got it yay.  The Britney Spears song I never thought I'd ever download.  I don't really care for her because of how crazy she is but that song does grow on you after awhile.  We hear it on the radio in the car all the time so now I have it downloaded lol.

Unanimous Ruling in Iowa for Gay Marriage

Iowa is now the 3rd state to make gay marriage legal.  YAY!  Here is the link:

Unanimous ruling: Iowa marriage no longer limited to one man, one woman

"The landmark ruling is guaranteed to send shock waves through politics in Iowa and beyond. With no appeal as an option, opponents say their only hope to overturn Friday’s decision is an almost-certain bid to amend the state constitution. But that path, which would eventually require a public vote, would not yield results until 2012 at the earliest."

I'm so happy for Iowans.  Maybe some day the rest of the free world will be "free" to be legally bound whomever they choose.

Bike Gear

Well today we went to the bike store, Snider's Cyclry, to buy a new front wheel for my bike.  I wanted to buy a road bike but they didn't have it at the thrift store anymore and my bike is ok so I'm just going to make the best of what I have.

Unfortunately they didn't have the wheel so I had to place an order for it and they will call me when it comes in which should be on Friday.  Which means I'll be on the road again by Saturday.

I went to Nashbar.com and bought a skull cap (diablo which means it has flames hehe) to keep my head cool under my helmet and I also bought a 70oz Camelbak (which holds 70oz of water and is like a skinny backpack).  It's red and black so it matches my bike and my helmet lol.  Those should be here by the end of the week so I'll have it all around the same time so I won't have to wait long to start riding again.

Got my mp3 player fixed, getting a new front wheel, skull cap and camelbak.  I'm getting it all together again so I'm getting psyched up again.  It's about frickin time!

Cigarette Tax

Today is the day that they added yet another $1 tax on cigarettes.  If this isn't a reason to quit then I certainly don't know what is.  They keep adding more and more taxes to cigarettes and people just keep smoking their paychecks away.

I'm constantly being asked for a cigarette.  I mean come on, if I did smoke do you really think I'm going to just hand over my precious $6 a pack cigarettes to just anyone?  No, I don't think so.

I started smoking at the age of 15 because all the other kids were doing it and the ones who weren't smoking it was because they jumped off the bridge that my mom was always talking about so they didn't live to be able to start smoking.

I started because the graduation party for my Junior High School were taken to the beach and these kids asked me if I wanted a cigarette.  We were told that anyone caught smoking wouldn't graduate (it was before graduation so they were giving us a reason to be screwed out of our diplomas) and I was dumb enough to take it but then I ran into the bathroom and threw it in the toilet because I heard a teacher was coming.  Although during that summer I was stealing cigarettes from my uncle (sorry Pat) and I would take a long walk and smoke a cigarette everyday.  Just 1 cigarette that is.  Although, I didn't inhale (Clinton lol).

We ended up moving to Castaic and went to Saugus High and they had a smoking section and so I started stealing my step dads cigarette's and hid for a couple of hours and just started smoking 1 cigarette after another to get my lungs used to it.  I had to because the other kids in the smoking section caught on to the fact that I wasn't inhaling so they told me to either smoke right or leave the smoking section.

I regret that because it took hold of my life and I couldn't quit.  I finally quit smoking when I was 26 years old after 11 years thanks to the Nicotrol patch.

When I started smoking at age 15 cigarettes were about $1 a pack, less for generic, like maybe 75 cents I guess.  When I quit smoking they were $2.50 a pack, about $1 for generic.  Now they are like $6 or $7.  Screw that.  I am so glad I quit smoking when I did.

The only thing I can suggest for smokers is to roll your own.  It's cheaper than even the generic I guess.  Or maybe start growing your own tobacco lol

Happy Birthday

Today is my Aunt Joyce's birthday.  This aunt of mine is the most wonderful and generous aunt any boy could want.  She's also really pretty.

Happy Birthday Aunt Joyce!  I hope all your birthday wishes come true today.
