New Craft Idea

I've been thinking of a new craft idea during the last few days (or week) but I don't really know for sure.  Wood Burning.  You can print a picture or pattern then trace it onto the wood using a special paper that is like carbon paper but for wood burning.  I guess if you use regular carbon paper it would probably not transfer as good as it transfers onto paper and would make it harder to see the pattern to burn it with the burning tool.

I do want to buy the wood burning tool though because it has other functions like it can be used to solder which I need.  And also you can attach an exacto blade to it and it heats the blade up so you can cut things like the stuff you stick fake flowers into which I have used in the past to make the "Pretty Birdhouses" clock and key minder.  I had to use a butter knife to cut it but when I did that it got all this white crap all over the place.

I googled wood burning patterns today and found a site (which I failed to bookmark) that has all these pictures of things that people have made (as well as hundreds of free patterns to print) and these things were so neat.  This one person wood burning a picture of horses on the seat of a chair and the back of the chair had this certain pattern.  It was really cool and shows that it's not specifically for pieces of wood, it can be done on furniture too like coffee tables and chairs and TV trays which someone also took a picture of a horse on a TV tray.  Of course you can do other things, not just horses hehe.

You can also do peoples faces, sort of like portraits of family members from pictures.  Since I'm not even a beginner yet I can't even start thinking about portraits lol.  I haven't even bought the tools yet or any pieces of wood.  If I do start I'm going to start off with something easy from the beginners guide.  Maybe make a address plate or something lol.  Or maybe a coat rack as a gift for someone.  We will see.  Right now I don't have any money to even think about this craft but I think that I can do it soon, like in a month or 2.
