The New Mickey Rourke

What the heck happened to sex symbol Mickey Rourke?  Ok, I know I don't have any room to talk, I used to be skinny and cute but my problem is I quit smoking and gained weight and my hair fell out and I just transformed into this George Kastanza lookin guy.  But Mickey Rourke, he's got money, if something is wrong he can fix it.  In fact, he did try to fix something because he had plastic surgery.  Why?  If it ain't broke why fix it?

Take a look at these before and after shots.  What a transformation from hot to DUDE!  WTF!

Constitutional oath of office gets mangled

I watched this happen but I didn't know that they had to do the oath of office twice.  The day after he swore in he had to swear in again because it wasn't legal.  That is according to Fox News that they had to do it again the next day.  I didn't hear about that.

This is copied and pasted from www.chron.com:

"For a couple of smooth-talking constitutional experts, Chief Justice John Roberts and President Barack Obama had a hard time getting through the constitutional oath of office.

There was a false start by Obama, who started to respond before Roberts had completed the first phrase. Obama ended up saying the first two words — “I, Barack” — twice.

Then there was an awkward pause after Roberts prompted Obama with these words: “That I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully.” The chief justice seemed to say “to” rather than “of,” but that was not the main problem. The main problem was that the word “faithfully” had floated upstream in the constitutional text, which actually says this: “That I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States.”

Obama seemed to realize this, pausing quizzically after saying, “that I will execute.”

Roberts gave it another try, getting closer but still not quite right with this: “Faithfully the office of president of the United States.” He omitted the word “execute.”

Obama now repeated Roberts’ initial error of putting “faithfully” at the end. Starting where he had abruptly paused, he said, “The office of president of the United States faithfully.”

From there, smooth sailing.

Constitutional law experts agree that the flub is insignificant. Yet two previous presidents — Calvin Coolidge and Chester Arthur — repeated the oath privately because of similar issues."

Universal Chat Program

When I stopped using my laptop I installed all the IM programs to the desktop such as AIM, Yahoo IM, MSN Messenger and MySpace IM.  Well, all of a sudden I've noticed how slow my computer got from running all those IM programs.

So I went on Google and did a search for IM programs and found Pidgin.  This is a universal chat program that lets you see your buddy list from 16 different IM programs.

AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo! and Zephyr

There is one other that I wish it had which is Facebook.  eBuddy has facebook, I use that IM program when I'm on my PSP.

Well this definately helps and all the IM's are tabbed so if you are in more than 1 conversation it's tabbed for you in 1 window.  It also has chatrooms, the only thing it doesn't have is webcam.  You can either have 1 universal icon for all to see or you can choose an icon for each IM service that you use.  And it uses the smileys that you would normally see only in like AOL or Yahoo or MSN, so you can't use special smileys that you wouldn't see in AOL that you would see in MSN.  I think it's pretty cool.  I like it.  My computer isn't slow any more.

The Bokni Magus

Well, I finally got my character back up in level so he is back to where he was last night.  I'm even back to the mob boss I was at last night who kept killing me which eventually lead me to exit the game and start playing the other one.

I'm back to him and I thought that the only thing that would help me was my ranged weapon but I shot at him over and over and over until all my ammo was gone and had used up almost all my HP potions and I still died.  That guy just won't die.

What I've read other say in message boards is that the only way to kill this guy is to run around the edge of the walls until he stops to recharge his mana or whatever then try to kill him.  I'm not sure if that will do me any good because he heals so fast.  Even if I did wait for him to gain more mana then try to attack he'd probably gain his mana fast enough to heal himself and I'd never kill him.

I read that it took 1 person 2 weeks to finally off this guy.  Someone said try the multi-player mode and get help with it but most of the people chatting in the multi-player chat room are little children from the way they are talking to each other.  You know the way kids talk to each other, 1 insult after the other.  Yeah OK, some adults are like that too so I'm not sure who is who anymore lol.

I'm going to try one of the techniques I've read about tomorrow.  For now my left hand is hurting me from the analog stick thingy.

We Are One

Yesterday, HBO had a concert to commemorate the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th U.S. president.  It cost 175,000,000, yes that is $175 million dollars if you can't count that high.  Do they realize that our country is in a recession?  This was all paid for by tax payers.  We can't afford that with our economy the way it is.

OK, I realize the "change" that is happening and I'm glad that a, dare I say, black person (or African American person) has finally made it to the white house but why make such a huge deal out of it?  I mean, OK I can understand if our economy was a lot better, if people weren't becoming homeless by the minute but it's not and people are.  First of all it's not fair that it was only on HBO.  Tax payers paid for this, they should've been able to see it on NBC or something.  They are paying for something and can't even see it.  Isn't that like stealing?

For those who were lucky enough to see it, it was a 2 hour concert starring Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, RenĂ©e Fleming, Herbie Hancock, Shakira, John Legend, Tom Hanks, Garth Brooks and I don't know who else.  There were a lot of people performing and reading and Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx. Bishop Gene Robinson delivers the invocation.  I have to admit that it was quite spectacular.  Garth Brooks stole the show.

I'm all for celebrating someones achievement but this was way above and beyond and way too expensive.  What pisses me off the most is that my sister has been out of work since July 2008 and she can't find a job.  Why isn't this money being used to be put back into the economy to help struggling businesses so they can rehire the people that they fired?  And the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is denying us the tax rebate that Obama is offering the country.  How is that supposed to help me buy groceries and pay bills?  How is that supposed to help my sister get back on her feet?  All it's going to do is help get California out of debt, it won't get me or my sister out of debt.

Dumb dumb dumb

I am so thick sometimes.  I forgot to save my game yesterday with Untold Legends.  I had gotten to level 16 or 17, I forgot now, and I didn't save my game once lol.  Well that's OK because having to start over made me remember the things I was supposed to learn from the beginning which will help me where I was stuck when I stopped playing it last night.

There is this mob who kept running from me and I couldn't kill him and he was shooting me but I couldn't get anywhere near him.  I have a ranged weapon but I didn't know how to use it.  So now I know.  This could help me get that guy.

Also I found out that you can play online with other people, even if they aren't sitting in the same room or house with you.  But they want a minimum of level 50, they don't want you if you are just learning the game.  I created an account though so when I do get to that level then I can try the multiplayer mode.  This means that I gotta solo my way to level 50 lol.  Then again maybe it's impossible to solo your way to level 50, maybe I need to get into a guild or join a group of people to get to level 50.  I didn't see guilds, I just saw groups of people trying to find more players.  Wow, reminds me of all the times I sat and waited for people to play with.  But I don't know if it's worth it to sit there waiting for people to come then have your battery die and have to play with the plug.
