Will Gay Republican Fred Karger Run for White House in 2012?

Wow I think this is a cool story via the LA Weekly blog. I never thought the day would come when a gay man would run for President. We've already broken the stereotype barrier when an African-American ran for president in the 90's (Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton) and a woman ran for president in 2008 (Hilary Clinton) and an African-American man finally won in 2008 (Obama) so why shouldn't a gay man run for president?



I am not a Republican, I am not a Democrat, I am an independent meaning I will vote for who I think is qualified not based on their sex, race or sexual orientation but based on if I think they have enough experience to run for presidency. As of right this very moment I don't know 1 thing about Fred Karger but you bet I will make every effort to find out who he is and what he stands for.



Being gay doesn't necessarily mean that you are for gay rights because I have met a few gay men who were against gay marriage because they believed all the lies the church spread in that Prop 8 campaign about how teachers will teach homosexuality to k-1st graders. I tried telling them to stop believing all the lies but it was their church who was convincing them.



The only thing that I do not look forward to is hearing all the BS commercial ads lying about him just because he's gay; just like the BS lies about Prop 8. It's too dramatic! And they say that gay people are dramatic, when it comes to something like this all the straight people become the drama queens, not gays.



So let the drama queenery begin I guess.

Will Gay Republican Fred Karger Run for White House in 2012? Something Very Interesting Is Brewing

Gay Republican Fred Karger

Fred Karger, the openly gay Republican who battled Mormons and the National Organization for Marriage during the Proposition 8 campaign, was featured in the Washington Post yesterday, gaining major recognition for his possible run for the White House in 2012. If Karger decides to become an official candidate and somehow pulls off a miraculous, underdog victory, he'll be the first openly gay president in the history of the United States. The Post caught up with Karger, who lives in Laguna Beach and worked to stop the passage of Proposition 8, as he hit the campaign trail in New Hampshire. It's been an interesting time for politically active gay Republicans, who aren't always well-received by folks in the gay community due to the GOP's general opposition to gay rights. The Log Cabin Republicans, a gay political group, were behind a successful federal lawsuit to overturn the military's ban on gays, which put pressure on Congress and President Barack Obama to ultimately repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." In West Hollywood, Scott Schmidt is making headlines for being the first openly gay, registered Republican to run for City Council in a city that's been long known as a liberal, Democratic stronghold. GOProud, another gay Republican group, recently stirred things up in conservative circles when it was invited to this year's Conservative Political Action Conference, which is attended by all kinds of Republican luminaries. And now Karger has caught the attention of one of the best newspapers in the country, with gay rights veteran Cleve Jones describing him to the Post as a "Republican Harvey Milk." Add it all together, and it makes us think some kind of trend is developing ... but we don't know exactly what. Are gays now more comfortable coming out as Republicans? Maybe the gay community needs to face up to the fact that gay Republicans aren't going away, and needs to better recognize and support the achievements and aspirations of conservative queers? Maybe the gay Republican thing can be used as a political tool by gay rights activists to get Democrats and President Obama moving on gay rights legislation such as a federal anti-discrimination law that protects gays in the workplace? Kelley Williams-Bolar was sentenced by Judge Patricia Cosgrove on Tuesday and will begin serving her sentence immediately. The jury deliberated for seven hours and the courtroom was packed as the sentence was handed down. She was convicted on two counts of tampering with court records after registering her two girls as living with Williams Bolar's father when they actually lived with her. The family lived in the housing projects in Akron, Ohio, and the father’s address was in nearby Copley Township. Additionally, Williams-Bolar’s father, Edward L. Williams, was charged with a fourth-degree felony of grand theft, in which he and his daughter are charged with defrauding the school system for two years of educational services for their girls. The court determined that sending their children to the wrong school was worth $30,500 in tuition. - Dr. Boyce Watkins                     As punishment for doing everything in her power to keep her children safe, Ms. Williams-Bolar, a single mother with no previous criminal record, has been made a felon by Ohio judge Patricia Cosgrove. "'Because of the felony conviction, you will not be allowed to get your teaching degree under Ohio law as it stands today. She has been robbed of the opportunity to elevate her life and the lives of her family through her own hard work. I'm very shocked to hear about this. Lesbians being raped to turn them straight in South Africa and it is not recognized by South African law as being a hate crime. The men who go to jail for raping a lesbian woman is let out on $10 bail. How is that fair? Rape is rape no matter what circumstances and it should not be tolerated by any government.

Something is wrong with this story. In the article (below) it says that this 47-year-old "gay man" sexually assaulted a TSA agent but if you read the story it seems more like this TSA agent sexually assaulted a gay man.



He has penis piercings and that is what set off the alarm and when this TSA agent is patting him down, he starts fondling the guy. If you have piercings in your penis and some straight guy starts messing with it, of course you're gonna get aroused and ejaculate.



I don't have any piercings anywhere but my ears so I don't know for a fact that touching it is gonna make you go off but I do know people who blow their wad at the slightest touch (see the movie American Pie). If he is that sensitive, especially with the piercings then I can totally understand him going off with a pat down, especially if he is feeling the piercing with his hand on the guys dick.



This guy knew he was going to the airport and he knew that his piercings were probably going to set off some alarm so it was his responsibility to remove any/all piercings, especially in his dick. I do feel that this is ridiculous that he was arrested for ejaculating but at the same time, it could've been prevented had he just taken out his piercings.



Lesson to others out there, if your dick is pierced, maybe you shouldn't wear them when going through airport security.

Man arrested after ejaculating during TSA pat-down November 21, 2010 by Dead Serious News · Leave a Comment  A 47 year old gay man was arrested at San Francisco International Airport after ejaculating while being patted down by a male TSA agent.  Percy Cummings, an interior designer from San Francisco, is being held without bail after the alleged incident, charged with sexually assaulting a Federal agent. According to Cummings’ partner, Sergio Armani, Cummings has “multiple piercings on his manhood” which were detected during a full body scan.  As a result, Cummings was pulled aside for a pat-down.  Armani stated that the unidentified TSA agent spent “an inordinate amount of time groping” Cummings, who had apparently become sexually aroused.  Cummings, who has a history of sexual dysfunction, ejaculated while the TSA agent’s hand was feeling the piercings.  The TSA agent, according to several witnesses, promptly called for back up.  Cummings was thrown to the ground and handcuffed. It took her all these years to find her father and he has cancer and their reunion may be cut short but at least they were able to meet each other before his fateful day comes.

Dog Prayer

I got an email today with this video attached to it. It's actually a lot easier to send me a link to YouTube rather than sending me a video attached in my email. First of all it loads a lot quicker in YouTube, if I watched it on YouTube then I wouldn't have to wait for Windows Media Player to load. That takes forever to actually play because the video is usually always choppy. While the audio is still playing, the video freezes for seconds at a time.



I did do a search on YouTube and found it and thought I would share it with my readers.



I think this is amazing how this dog owner has trained his dog to pray before eating. Most dogs would just go to their food whenever they wanted to.

I am definitely not part of the 1% of people who woke up today to a brand new Twitter but even if I was, I wouldn't have known it considering I only ever go to the Twitter website to click my list of followers to follow people back. For the rest of the day I have TweetDeck running on my screen at all times.



Even if I were part of the 1% of Twitter users who woke up with a brand new interface it wouldn't do me any good because TweetDeck gives me way more than Twitter.com ever did and even with a new UI it still won't do me as much good as TweetDeck does.

Colbert Testimony Before Congress (House Subcommittee)

Stephen Colbert testified before congress about immigration and people were not amused at all. Although I found his speech hilarious, I do find that it was a waste of time for congress. He could have just put the skit into his show and Congress could've watched it from the comfort of their homes or offices.



People are saying he is making a mockery of the congressional hearing, well, wasn't that his point of being there? He was asked to be there by the congresswoman that he mentioned and later she said that she didn't know he was going to be in character. Come on, he's Stephen Colbert. If you know anything about him it's that he's like Lady Gaga or Kathy Griffin, always in character.



Again, I found it hilarious but that's just me. What do you think?

I am beyond shocked at this AP News article. It's 2010 and the Montana Republicans want to make homosexuality illegal. Really? Seriously? This is beyond disturbing to me that people are still so ignorant and hateful that they want to make being born a certain way against the law.



Is it illegal to be born with darker skin? Is it illegal to be born with red hair? No! So why make it illegal to be gay? That's just so beyond stupid and I think that these republicans should be thrown out of office on principle.

I am posting this because I have seen her in Bakersfield. When I was riding the bus every day to the Gym over in Green Acres (no joke) I saw her just about every day on the bus. I overheard her talking about writing a book or being in a book about her life as a side show in the carnivals about being the bearded lady.



One night we (Chip and myself) were having dinner at Hometown Buffet and they sat us at this table that was right next to another table where they sat Vivian and another man in a wheelchair. It wasn't a booth next to their booth, it was 2 tables pushed together so it was as if we were all 4 in the same party but we were each at our respective tables. Whenever they seat us at those tables we're pretty much quiet during our meal.



Even though we were basically sharing a meal with them, we treated it as if we were at our own table so there was no need for idle chit chat or introductions. Although I've wanted to meet her, I refrained out of fear that she would think that I'm only talking to her because of her beard so I basically just left it alone. Does that make sense or does that make me sound like a snob? LOL I don't mean it to, I just mean that I was respecting her privacy.



I think her story is amazing and I wish her all the best with her newly found son.

It also informed him that both his mother and his maternal grandmother had hypertrichosis, known as werewolf syndrome. Each had facial hair, even as children. The letter further stated that his mother was born a hermaphrodite, with both male and female reproductive organs. Wheeler's facial fuzz had appeared at birth with an inch and a half of light hair covering her cheeks and chin. She says her mother wanted a daughter, and doctors were instructed to remove the male parts. Wheeler claimed her father was humiliated by his bearded little girl, but it didn't prevent him from capitalizing on her condition. She began working in sideshows at an early age, earning money to send home to her family.

I would like to say that I'm not really much of a political person unless my rights as a human being are being threatened then I'm all about it. I have no idea who Christine O'Donnell is, I know who Chris O'Donnell is though, he's cute. But I digress, this woman who is running for Senate is out of her bloody mind if she thinks I'm going to vote for her based on her 1996 anti-masturbation campaign on MTV.



Ok look, I really don't give a hoot what she says about it because I find it hilarious that she's even giving it a thought and telling people that they are going to hell for lust because it doesn't matter what you do, if there is a hell we're all going there. Unless you die at birth, you have sinned and you're going to hell for it. Even if you wear glasses you aren't going to heaven, you can be sure of that, it says so in the bible. Blemish means defect of any kind such as eye defect as in needing to wear glasses whether it's for reading or if you are completely blind. What about deaf people? Do they fall unto this categoryeth? Maybe even male pattern baldness or a pimple or dare I suggest, a yeast infection? So squeeze out all those blackheads, go to the hair club for men, get some contact lenses and stop wearing pants that are so tight I can see your cameltoe. Oh and fat people, that is what gets me, all these fat people think their getting into heaven LOL. Hello! Sloth party of 2.

Vancouver, WA Woman Admits to Throwing Acid on Herself

While eating dinner tonight we had Nancy Grace on the tv who was talking about this Vancouver, Washington woman who was the first victim of acid being thrown in her face in front of a Starbucks. But, the twist is, she admitted to police that she did it to herself.



I'm just shocked that any person would do this to themselves. I mean, she has disfigured herself for the rest of her life and for what? For 15 minutes of fame? To show how religious she is? Seriously?



I can think of better ways to get 15 minutes of fame or for showing how passionate you are about your religion. I mean look at her before image, she was gorgeous. She could have gotten famous in another way you know? Now look at her, she's a ghoul now. She will never be the same ever again.



So now she's famous for being stupid and she will likely serve 1 year in prison for her selfishness. Good luck with all that...

Vancouver, WA Woman Admits to Throwing Acid on Herself

Police have reported today that a Vancouver, WA woman claiming to have been attacked by someone throwing acid in her face is lying and the event was a hoax. Bethany Storro claimed that on September 2nd, 2010, a stranger walked up to her in a parking lot and threw a cup of acid at her face. She did not know the alleged attacker but helped police create a sketch of the suspect. Storro suffered damage to her face but now has confessed that she in fact threw the acid on herself. The once tragic story made world wide headlines and even prompted a copy-cat attack in Arizona. We are still learning the details of why she may have perpetrated this hoax but one theory is that she wanted a platform to share her Christian faith. Michelle Obama: I love french fries - Via Politico

For once I am in complete agreement with an Obama. Michelle Obama was at the National Restaurant Association's fall board meeting where she was telling the restaurant industry to step up to the plate (the dinner plate?) and stop serving junk to our children and adults. Instead of serving fries with that, offer something healthier like carrots or apples. I actually agree with her. But it has to be something that the customer wants to order.



Side note, McDonald's does offer apples for their kids meals as an alternative to fries. They also offer milk as an alternative to soda. They have for years.



You can't turn "Fish N Chips" into "Fish N Apples Chips" or "Fish N Carrot Chips" although that does sound good. The last time we went to Long John Silvers their fish was so horrible, it made my stomach so heavy, I was on the crapper with cramps the rest of the day. The fries were the only thing that didn't make me feel like crap, it was the fish. I think they need to clean their oil.



She also suggested to switch white pasta with wheat pasta but how about this, how about Wacky Mac? Wacky Mac pasta is made out of vegetables. Why not go all the way and suggest they make their pasta out of vegetables? That would make much more sense than just wheat.



And why not suggest to offer baked fish and chicken as an alternative to fried in all restaurants? I use the George Foreman grill to make my boneless skinless chicken so I think that should be an alternative too.



The issue though is you cannot expect customers to ONLY eat the healthy alternative. If you tell them they must request fries then they WILL request fries all the time. You aren't going to force someone into eating healthy, that's the reason they are going out because they don't want to eat healthy.



I am not a vegetarian but lately I have been eating only vegetarian foods like Garden Burgers in place of chicken or any meat for that matter. And only eating salads or steamed veggies so I am certainly switching my attitude towards eating habits but that's me.



Since I am diabetic I have had to take a serious look at the foods that I eat so I lower not only my blood sugar but also my cholesterol. I haven't been going to fast food places or any restaurant for that matter. It's not fast food places, it's the restaurant industry as a whole that needs to change. I do agree with her 100% about that.



And by the way, the fish at fish n chips has more calories than the "chips" so if you are going to take the fries away you might as well take the fish away too because they are worse than the fries.

There are a couple of things I'd like to say about that one.

It's the parents responsibility to make sure you eat right, not the businesses. They are in business to feed people what taste good, not what tastes healthy.



There are businesses that are in business to feed us healthy foods and if you should want to eat out and eat healthy then go there instead.

YES! That is what I've been saying is wrong. It's not just restaurants that are giving us unhealthy foods for less but also the grocery store. It's cheaper to eat junk and it's way more expensive to eat healthy. Why is that? I think it's backwards. I think they need to reward you for eating healthy by selling the healthy foods for less money and penalize you for eating unhealthy by charging you more money.



Also, why is it that the diabetic foods are so expensive? They aren't helping my cause by making me pay up the wazoo to keep my blood sugar down. Also the vegetarian foods are so expensive.



There was one more thing. I think it was in the LA Times blog post saying restaurants aren't offering nutritional information for their guests. They certainly are! You can go to the website of any major restaurant and they have the nutrition information right in their website. Most of the time in PDF format. Some also have it posted on a bulletin board or they have pamphlets with all that information. So that is wrong, they do offer that.

Michelle Obama admitted Monday that she’s a "lover" of french fries and confessed that her daughters enjoy mac and cheese. But at the National Restaurant Association's fall board meeting, she asked restaurateurs to rethink the way they offer food in their eateries and implored them to provide more nutritious choices to both adults and kids. Since Americans eat a third of their meals in restaurants, Obama asked the restaurateurs to add more healthful choices to their menus and provide customers with more information about what they’re eating. “What I do know is that in the restaurant industry, creativity is your lifeblood,” Obama said at the Hyatt Regency before a packed crowd that included assistant White House chef Sam Kass. “It’s what sets you apart from the competition, and it keeps customers coming back for more. And today I am asking you to use that creativity to rethink the food you offer, especially dishes aimed at young people, and to help us make the healthier choice the easier choice.” Obama told the professional foodies that she would like to see them use that creativity with children’s menus as well. “I'm not asking any of you to make drastic changes to every single one of your recipes or to totally change the way you do business,” Obama said. “But what I am asking is that you consider reformulating your menu in pragmatic and incremental ways to create healthier versions of the foods that we all love.” Obama suggested substituting wheat pasta for white pasta or cutting the amounts of butter and cream in recipes. “Or you could make healthy sides like apple slices or carrots the default choice in a menu and make fries something customers have to request — which would hurt me deeply,” the first lady said to laughter. “I'm a fry lover.” Read more at www.politico.com

Education School Security Orders CO Teen to Remove American Flags From Pickup Truck

Imagine if you will, a scenario where you are living in a country like the United States where you are told you are not allowed to be patriotic because it might upset someone. That is what happened to a Colorado Junior at his high school.



He was caught squealing his tires in the high school parking lot and got into trouble by the security guard who suspended his parking privileges for 2 weeks but then she had the nerve to tell him to take down the 2 American flags he had waving from the back of his pickup truck. She told him that it might upset someone.



If I were living in Mexico and I saw the Mexican flag waving proudly from a Mexican's truck, I would not be offended because I am in Mexico. If I were living in Italy and I saw an Italian flag waving proudly from a Italian's truck, I would not be offended because I am in Italy. And if I were living in ANY other country over the planet it would be the same thing. I would be proud to wave the flag of the country that I live in, even if I wasn't born there.



What makes this security guard think that being proud of your country would upset people? It makes no sense. I think this security guard needs to re-evaluate her patriotism before she tries to tell someone they cannot be patriotic. In fact, I'd venture to say that she doesn't deserve to have a job where she is in charge of telling people that they cannot wave the American flag in the United States.



Heck, the school itself waves an American flag on the flagpole, what makes her think that it's not ok to wave a flag from your vehicle?



I'm sorry, it just upsets me to hear this kind of thing especially with September 11th coming at the end of this week.

Jeremy Stoppel is man enough to admit that he deserved getting a ticket for squealing his tires in the school parking ticket. But he has a problem with the order that came down from school security — no more American Flags. He told KMGH-TV: “She said I should take my flags down. She said this is a school that focuses on diversity and she doesn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable,” Stoppel said. “How do you suppose anyone would feel uncomfortable in America with an American flag? That’s where I’m confused.” Jeremy and his dad told the station they are looking for an apology: “To me, she’s just threatening him, hoping that she can just bully him so he’ll just take ‘em down and just put his tail between his legs and say, ‘I’m done. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.’ And that’s just not gonna happen,” said Dan Stoppel, Jeremy’s father. The principal is promising to look into the matter. Stay tuned.

Did anyone watch the reunion of the New Jersey Housewives last night on Bravo? I watched it twice.

You know I have a strange relationship with these housewives shows. I hate them but I love them lol. I love to hate them lol.

My favorite of all the housewives shows is New Jersey. I didn't want the first season for some strange reason and this is the only season that I've watched and boy have I been watching it too, sometimes twice. I really love Caroline Manzo. I think she has a good head on her shoulders. She kind of reminds me of my mother (looks, not attitude lol) so that right there gives me a reason to like her even more. She is the mother I wish I had if I could do it over.

I don't really like Danielle very much but on the other hand, she makes really good tv lol.

I have to wait another week for part 2 of this reunion to see how it all went down.
