Dell DJ Battery Fixed

My friend Alyce bought me a Creative Versa-Tool Kit as a gift which I totally didn't expect her to do.  It has many uses such as wood burning, soldering, cutting, stamping, embossing, shaping (wax) etc.

I've wanted one to solder my Dell DJ battery wires because they snapped off.  I was finally able to fix it so now I can start riding my bike again on the bike path. I can start losing weight again yay.  That is if I am able to buy a new wheel soon.  Now is the perfect time to start riding again because the weather is nice.

Press N' Open Booklight

Have you seen those commercials for the Snuggie Fleece Blanket that comes with a free "Press N' Open Booklight"?  Well, I bought that booklight at Albertson's last week and it's crap.

Yeah, it's real neat that you press a button and the light automatically pops out and it looks very cool when it opens but it only shows the page down the middle.  It's a total waste of plastic.  It was $5 alone at the store and comes free with the Snuggie but I wouldn't waste any time with it.

A friend sent me a Mighty Bright Cobra Super L.E.D. book light and not only does it show the page you are reading but it also shows the other page so you don't have to keep moving the light.  It is way better than the crappy Press N' Open light.

Actor Ron Silver dies in NYC at age 62 of cancer

Obit Silver

Actor Ron Silver dies in NYC at age 62 of cancer

This is indeed sad.  Ron Silver has passed away at the age of 62 from Cancer.

The shows and movies that I remember him from were "Veronica's Closet", "Chicago Hope", "Mr. Saturday Night", "Oh, God! You Devil", "Romancing the Stone", "Silkwood", "Hill Street Blues" and "The Entity".  Yes, I went through he list in IMDB which is a very long list of credits.

Ron Silver lead a very nice life and tragic that it had to end after 62 years.  To the friends and family of this very talented man, I am sorry for your loss.  The loss isn't just yours but is also ours.  He surely will be missed.  My family and I will keep Ron and his family and friends in our prayers during this most difficult time.

Disposible Hearing Aides

I saw a commercial for this new product called Songbird Disposable Hearing Aides.  It lasts for 400 hours of active use and lasts up to 6 months.  I guess when you can't hear anymore because the batteries have died then you just buy a new pair.

Ok, first of all, why not just change the batteries?  Why do you have to buy a new pair?  These hearing aides cost $80 for a pair.  That's $160 per year.

I'm trying to think of the pros and the cons of this.  On one hand I guess it is good to get a new pair every so often, maybe once every couple or few years but not every 6 months.  Why can't they last a whole year?

If you had to buy a regular pair of hearing aides from your doctor that can cost $5000 which is a good reason to buy the Songbird because paying $160 a year is saving you a lot of money.  Especially if you... god forbid... pass away in a few years.  But I mean, if you are born hard of hearing or you develop hearing problems from your iPod in your teens, 20's or 30's then you are going to need it for the rest of your life.  Yeah, $5000 is a lot to spend every few years or whenever you have to buy new ones so $160 a year every year is probably a better use of your money.

My aunt bought hearing aides a few years ago and she had nothing but problems with them and they were the $5000 ones.  She said that sometimes when she was at work and they would talk on the loud speaker it was too loud and she couldn't hear the customers that great.  And she took them back to the doctor to be adjusted a couple or few times and he was a total douche and would get impatient with her.  Uh, she just dropped 5 G's on something that she doesn't even wear out of frustration.  Give the lady a break and adjust them you douche bag.

Oh sorry, did I say all that?  LOL I guess it had to be said.

I think I will suggest the Songbird to my aunt, perhaps she will get better use out of this at the lower cost of $80 every 6 months.  Maybe she won't need to wear them all the time so she can stretch it out a lot longer since she is retired now and doesn't need to listen to people bitching about their problems.

Great job Songbird Disposible Hearing Aides.  You got my vote.

Roast of Larry the Cable Guy

I've been looking forward to this since I first heard it was going to be on.  The Roast of Larry the Cable Guy aired tonight at 10pm on Comedy Central.  The panel was Zac Brown, Gary Busey, Reno Collier, Nick DiPaolo, Jeff Foxworthy, Toby Keith, Maureen McCormick, Jeffrey Ross, Warren Sapp and Lisa Lampanelli as the Roastmaster.

I kinda felt sorry for Maureen McCormick because of the jokes towards her but she took it like a man.  She was very raunchy and I thought she did the best job in this roast.

Gary Busey was.... well, himself.  Although he was funny.  He was pretending like he wasn't himself and so he was telling Gary Busey jokes lol.  Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself then you have no sense of humor.

Bill Engvall phoned in his performance.  It was a video, he couldn't even take the time out of his life to show up to the roast of one of his friends.  That's ok.

I love these Roasts, I remember watching them as a kid with Lucille Ball as a roaster and Dean Martin and Don Rickles.  Those were the days.  But, back then you couldn't say a lot of words you can say today.  Although, they say a lot of words you still can't say on TV but they just bleep it out.  I watch every roast when they have them if I know about it.  I don't watch Comedy Central as much as I used to because I'm always on Sci-Fi channel so when I do see a Roast commercial I make time to watch it.

Can't sleep

I have to take Ambien to help me sleep because I have ADHD really bad.  If I don't take a sleeping pill I'm up all night.  I'm a real bad insomniac.  I would love to be able to just lay down and bam I'm asleep but I can only do that when I'm so exhausted from lack of sleep lol.

I also have Sleep Apnea which means I gotta wear a mask on my face which forces air into my lungs through my nose and that's also why I need ambien.  Believe me, if you were me you would not say jack shit about drug abuse by taking ambien because wearing that mask and having the air forced into your lungs doesn't make falling asleep easy.  I've had it for a few years too and I still can't sleep without a sleeping pill.

My problem though is that I think I'm becoming immune to the affects of the ambien which is why I lay in bed for 2 hours with my eyes closed but brain still open for business.

Well, my first ambien I took was only half a pill (for this very reason) so I've already taken the other half and now I'm ready to get back in bed.

Until tomorrow...
